Resolution

Authors: Senators Amanda Walser, Shelby Graham, Lauren Mix, and Andrew Reiter

WHEREAS: The Florida State University community lost a valued student, friend,

sister, and leader on Tuesday October 4, 2016, with the passing of Holly

Cummins;

WHEREAS: she was a hardworking student in her senior year and had made the

Dean’s List in the previous spring semester;

WHEREAS: she was a leader in numerous organizations on campus including,

director of social media for her sorority Alpha Phi, recruitment counselor for

Panhellenic Association, fourth year dancer and top fundraiser for Dance

Marathon, and a Garnet and Gold Guide;

WHEREAS: she was known by many to love Florida State football, was quiet in nature

but was very funny and clever, and made everyone she met feel important

and valued;

WHEREAS: Holly Cummins was much loved and respected by her family, friends,

sisters, and countless students, both in the Florida State community and

beyond, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 68TH STUDENT SENATE AT THE FLORIDA STATE

UNIVERSITY THAT:

On behalf of its members, recognizes the contributions Holly Cummins made to Florida

State University during her time here and extends its sincerest condolences to her

family, friends, and sisters.
