Dear Barbara,

The good news is that I can tell you when you will stop crying - When you get to Heaven Jesus will wipe away thelast tear.

How are you doing?

I think Vince Lewis is a Dayton friend. Small world. I'm off to chase tornadoes on the 11th. It is a long workingproject and part of the hearing aid technology. I got divorced in November. Too hard to live with the warped VietNam vet.

Love,

Good Day:

I am writing to give my regrets that I will be unable to attend theFallen Heroes Memorial this June. I would like to thank ArchbishopWilliams High School for creating this memorial.

My mother, Barbara Guest, is Robert E. Ryan's widow. Although shemarried my father and together they created a family-I also have asister, Christie-Bob Ryan was always a part of our lives. His picturewas on our mantel along with other pictures of family. Since my sisterand I were children, we have heard the stories of Bob Ryan and learnedto love him too. My father and mother will be at the memorialdedication; my husband and I will be there in spirit while we take careof our newborn son at home.

Thank you again.

· .I first met Bob Ryan in 1969 when he was at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs,Colorado. I was a junior in college and a friend and classmate of Barbara Linnane who wasdating Bob and who would eventually marry him. I attended their wedding at Hanscom AirForce Base before Bob left for Vietnam. I remember him as a very handsome guy-maybe a bitshy but so brave. Barbara traveled to Hawaii to be with him on his R & R. He made her veryhappy.

His death brought the war in Vietnam so close to me. I was only 23 years old and I had neverpersonally known anyone who had died so young. On several occasions I have visited theVietnam War Memorial in D.C. and I always have fond memories of Bob when I am there.

I now live in Bob's hometown of Hingham and I often drive by the War Memorial in HinghamSquare where there is a memorial to Bob. I think of him often.

Hi Cathy,

This is to pass my regrets that I am unable to attend the June 13th Fallen Heroes Ceremony at ArchbishopWilliams High School.

I will be out of the country at that time.

I suspect that the invitation to me came from the widow of Air Force 1st Lt Bob Ryan, Barbara. If so, please passmy regrets -- and personal regards to her. I served with Bob many years ago in Southeast Asia -- he was a fineman, a loving husband, and indeed a true hero.

Warm regards,Tom Fleming
