Moodle is our district’s Learning Management System (LMS) for teachers to post lessons, resources, as well as collect and grade student work, administer quizzes.
Over the summer, the district will be upgrading to Moodle 2.0. Along with the upgrade, there will be a new template for all Elanco courses to follow. This session
will focus on how to best utilize the new format and provide you time to develop and post lessons and
resources for the upcoming school year.

With Google Applications, students can contact teachers using email, create their own websites, and collaborate with teachers and other students using
Google Documents by sharing documents and spreadsheets. Come see how using Google Applications can transform your classroom.

Blogs and Wikis are tools that provide our students with a voice in the classroom. Both have the potential to
allow students to practice their writing and communication skills, while also providing an
opportunity to display an ongoing portfolio of work. This session will teach you how to effectively manage
Wikispaces and Elanco’s new Wordpress program for blogs for you and your students.

Interactive White Boards and Document Cameras can create an interactive classroom when used effectively.
This session will provide you with the opportunity to learn the proper setup and use of both, while sharing resources and best practice uses for the classroom.

This session will explore the use of various social media tools to connect, collaborate, and communicate
with students and among colleagues. Tools include Edmodo, Twitter, and other applications that can help
develop a community of learners.

Join us for this digital storytelling session to learn how easy it can be to help even our youngest learners share their stories! Digital storytelling is the use of
interactive multimedia (images, audio, video, text) to tell a story. We’ll explore the capabilities of
VoiceThread, Little Bird Tales, and more! Examples will be provided for all grade levels.

LLaappttoopp
Window 7 is a new operating system for the Elementary teachers and has some new ways of
saving and organizing computer files. This workshop will be designed for new Windows 7 users to
customize their laptop and learn the most effective ways to manage files before starting the new school
year. Teachers must bring along their own Windows 7 Laptops for this session.

Microsoft Office 2010 is now on all district employee computers. Office 2010 includes Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher. This session will focus on the effective use of these four programs and will provide you with the opportunity to learn both the
basic and advanced features of each.
