Welcome to summer in Temple, TX! The next few months are by

far the busiest of the year, but also the most exciting for us here in the

Parks and Recreation Department. Between the start of summer camps,

opening of the community pools, water park and splash pads, and the

many special events taking place, it is shaping up to be another

great summer.

If you are looking to keep your kids entertained during their break

from school, we can help! This year we are off ering over 30 children’s

summer camps and I am sure there is something every child is sure to

love. From adventure camps to sports camps to technology camps,

kids will stay active, make new friends and create memories that will last

a lifetime.

Cool down during these hot summer days at the splash pads, take a

dip at your favorite community pool, or simply relax in the cool water of

the lazy river at Lions Junction Family Water Park.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for some exciting FREE family

entertainment in the park! Events include the return of the Hot Summer

Sounds Music Series each Friday night, Movies in the Park on select

Saturdays, and the HEB All American 4th of July Family Fun Fest!

Connect with us online at TempleParks.com or friend us on

Facebook to stay up to date with the latest information on all the summer

camps, programs, classes and events taking place!

I hope you have a wonderful summer break and can fi nd a little

time to unwind, have some fun and enjoy everything that

Temple Parks & Recreation has to off er. Until then,

I will see you outside.

Temple Parks & Recreation staff work diligently to provide citizens with clean, attractive, and well maintained areas. Due to the large number of parks in Temple, it is difficult to keep each park in top condition at all times. We are very thankful for all the help from our wonderful community members and organizations that help us maintain and enhance our parks!

Adopt-A-Park groups help inform parks staff of issues or wants for their park and also organize park work days, cleaning up, planting plants and trees, and other projects to maintain or enhance their park.
