Sunday, March 18 — UUSC Sunday: Something New, Something Saving, Something True, with Rev. Kathleen McTigue

Reflections from Rev. David Bryce, Senior Minister

I raise my voice in support of the annual Stewardship Drive.

I am not just encouraging you to give; I am encouraging you to increase your giving, if you can. And to do so as much as possible. And to do so as a spiritual act.

And to do so as an act of generosity, an act of support

for your fellow congregants, an act of support for all of the social service and social justice programs we have, an act of support for your own future.

I will not try to detail the budget needs; that is for others to do.

My hope is that you recognize all of the gifts that this congregation provides to so many and that you will feel moved to participate in providing those gifts.

How we allocate our money is an expression of our values. And while I know we all have many things that motivate us, that move us, that call to us, I hope that the spiritual nature of this church and of its many programs and activities are important to you, and that you will express that importance with generous contributions.

I do not ask this for me or for my future, I ask it for you and for your future.

I ask it that this place of love and welcome will thrive for decades to come.

Find Your Sanctuary. Be A Steward.

To get there, we need everyone to participate with strong increases in pledge amounts. Let’s all do our part!
