Stations of the Cross–Sculptural Reliefs by Virginia MaksymowiczLENT 2018 (FEB. 14-MARCH 30), EVENT IS FREEFrom Ash Wednesday through Good Friday, 2018, Saint Mark’s will exhibit Virginia Maksymowicz’s Stations of the Cross, cast sculptural reliefs in a tradition of religious imagery that dates back to the 13th cen-tury. Maksymowicz worked with a variety of models, culled from a wide range of ages and ethnici-ties. She explains, “I wanted the narrative of Christ’s passion and death to be represented in a way that is tensioned between the “specific” and the “universal.” Audio guides will make them accessible to

visually impaired people as well. For more information, or to participate in group experiences with the stations, contact Canon Daugherty, [email protected], or Vi Lynk, [email protected].

CONSTRUCTION CORNER

The concrete for the new patio is now completely poured, but the asphalt repairs to the front drive and around the base of the steps is scheduled for early next week (weather permitting). The temporary ramp we’ve been using the last few weeks has been removed, and the entry has been moved to the south side of the building. There are signs and lighting marking this new (temporary) path. The full patio will open after new handrails are installed later in January. We appreciate your patience as we continue to worship in the cathe-dral and the chapel while this ongoing work is com-pleted. Have questions about the project? For background information, visit saintmarks.org/construction. For weekly updates, follow along on Saint Mark's Facebook page, facebook.com/SaintMarksSeattle, or email Turner Construction Company, [email protected] to all whose generous donations have made this project possible. If you have not yet given to the Living Stones Capital Campaign, we invite you to do so by completing a pledge card, or online at saintmarks.org/livingstones, or contact Erik Donner at 206-323-0300 ext. 217 or [email protected].

SUNDAYS & BEYONDSundays & Beyond is a weekly publication of updates, events and activities happening on campus, and the Cathedral prayer list. It is available by electronic subscription, on Saint Mark’s website, and in print in the nave. To submit announcements for these publications, visit saintmarks.org/announce. Requests are due by Monday at 5 p.m. for publication on the following Sunday. Announcements may be edited for space and content.

Parking Decals for Saint Mark’s CommunityThe vestry recently engaged a parking and traffic flow engineering firm to assist us with the growing challenges of parking on our campus. Part of that involves asking Saint Mark’s community to place a window decal in their lower right front windshield for use of the cathedral lot outside of Sunday mornings. Decals are free, and available at the Cathedral Office on weekdays (M-F 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) We need your license plate number to register.
