    ModeofconductingtheSurvey

    The survey covered 13,050 school students (7th, 8th, 9th and

    10th standards) spread across Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad,

    Lucknow,Patiala,BhatindaandNellore.

    The survey was conducted in physical form with printed

    questionnaires being handed over to the students in class

    duringregularschoolhours.Participantsweregiftedspecially

    designedbookmarksbasedonthethemeof"CyberSecurity".

    ThesurveywasconductedfromOctobertoDecember,2012.

    Someoftheinterestingfindingsofthesurvey

    Some children have 14 Facebook accounts and some have 7

    emailaccounts

    42%feelitisnotacrimetousepiratedsoftwareinIndia

    67% children reported having started using Facebook before

    theageof10.

    26%kidsreportedhavingmorethan500Facebookfriends

    36%kidsdidnotknowtheirFacebookfriendsinreallife.

    82% reported having received vulgar, offensive or abusive

    emailsorFacebookmessages.
