Week 4 Term 3 Thursday 8th August 2019
It’s that time of year again when we ask for your opinion on overall school operations.
Throughout the year, we ask for topical feedback informally, and sometimes formally through
surveys, but this survey comes from the Department of Education. The Parent Opinion Survey is
completed online and forms an important part of future planning and goal setting. Parents are
selected to complete the survey through a random electronic process and if your name comes
up, we will be kindly requesting your opinion. Letters & emails have gone out to selected parents
yesterday. Any questions may be directed to Tara Hulonce.
Surveys need to be completed by Sunday the 18th of August

Xavier has been a wonderful addition to 3/4M. Xavier consistently makes good choices and is an example to other students. Xavier enthusiastically embraces new learning experiences and relishes a challenge. He completes each and every task to a high standard. He is not deterred by setbacks and learns from his mistakes. Xavier with your dedication to your learning there is nothing that will stop you from achieving your goals! Keep up the good work!
Bailey Cotter is a SUPER
STUDENT! Bailey is a friendly
and courteous student who
is always ready and willing
to assist others who ask for
his help.
Bailey is a highly motivated
student who always strives to
do his best. He tackles all
tasks with a positive attitude
and is incredibly eager to
accept additional work.
Well done Bailey! Keep up
the good work!
Notes from Mrs Hulonce…
Book Fair-
Our Book Fair was held last week and was well
attended. Thanks to everyone who came along,
some (super organised) people were even “stocking
up” on Christmas gifts. Bundarra Primary School
benefits from these fairs, as we receive some free
books for holding the Book Fair, which adds to our
educational resources. Hopefully Mrs Pratt and Mrs
Donald have found some fantastic books to add to
our library from the Scholastic selection. Thanks to
Mrs Donald and her team of helpers who made this
event possible.
Crazy Hair Day-
Tomorrow, our hair is going crazy at Bundarra!
Students can wear casual clothes and be as
creative as they like with their hairstyles. It’s your
opportunity to let loose! We are raising money to
help support Erin and her family, while they stay in
Melbourne for treatment. In addition, we will be
entertained by a band of buskers, performing
throughout breaks, with donations received added
to the funds for Erin. We’ve heard the buskers
practising and they’re pretty good, so get ready for
a fun day!
Grade 3/4 Camp-
Plans are well underway for this fantastic camp to
Dunkeld on 21st- 23rd August. We have many excited
Grade 3’s and 4’s who can’t wait for camp! We
sincerely thank our staff, Mrs Cullen, Miss Delaney
and Miss Mason and parents attending this camp for
their above and beyond efforts. We are sorry Mrs
Holden is unable to attend camp- but she’ll be
thinking of you all having fun while she looks after her
grade 2’s back at school! An organisational meeting
will be held shortly with all attending this camp.
Bundarra TRIVIA Night-
School Council are putting on a fun, social night.
Friday 6th September, tickets $10 each or $80 for a
table. We thank COLTS for their support with this over
18’s event.
Looking forward to a fun night, with funds raised
going to the AIR Ambulance on behalf of the Dark
family. The Dark’s (and many others in town) are fully
aware of how this fantastic service benefits our
community.
So, brush up on your trivia and look out for when
ticket sales start soon. It’s going to be an awesome
night. SEE YOU THERE!
PS. Students aren’t missing out on the fun, their TRIVIA
afternoon will be held on the same day.
Have fun!
“Use your words and actions to
help people and not hurt them”
Compassion
Compassion means caring
about other people. When
someone is feeling hurt or
sad your heart wants that
person to feel better and
you try and do something
about it.
Family Values Challenge
Talk to your family about a time
they have been shown
compassion by someone, or a
time they have been
compassionate to someone
else.
The ups and downs of growing up!
Students in Grades 5 and 6 will be
undertaking a unit on Personal
Development over the next few weeks,
beginning on Thursday 22nd August. The
students will be divided into a ‘Boys’
group and a ‘Girls’ group for these
sessions.
Notes have gone home with students this
week, including detailed information
about this unit of work. If you have any
questions or concerns about this unit of
learning, please see your child’s classroom
teacher.

More information to come
ICT Grades 1/2L, 1/2V and 2/3H have
been working on a project in ICT,
which celebrates their own
unique characteristics. They have
used a Powerpoint template to
create an ‘All About Me’ slide
show. The mini biography outlines
their accomplishments, goals,
and interests. This week they will
have an opportunity to present
their slide shows with their
classmates to compare their
similarities and differences. This
has been an excellent way to
enhance self-esteem, practise
perseverance, foster relationships,
and develop fundamental
technology skills.
All 5/6 classes will be watching Shrek as part of their Literacy unit next week. It is rated PG, so if any parents have any questions or concerns please see your child's classroom teacher.
On Wednesday visiting Musica Viva
Educator Sue Lane worked with
3/4D and Mrs Down to team teach
a lesson from the Water Water
Everywhere unit. This unit of work
goes with a special performance
of Water Water Everywhere music
in September by a visiting group.
Students were listening to the
interesting water sounds in the
music and drawing their
interpretation of the different
sounds.
