The temple of the Sagrada Familia is located at the intersection of Mallorca, Provença, Marina and Sardenya streets, in the centre of the Ensanche district. The temple generates a tourist attraction that has to coexist with the daily activity of the residents of the neighbourhood, a fact that generates conflict.

Narrative description of project: The project provides a new approach to understanding mobility as part of the overall changing lifestyles of different population groups across Europe. A multi-disciplinary coordination of intelligence provides a strong platform for the reinterpretation of our understanding of the ‘mobility mind-sets’ of Europeans; based on engagement with other leading experts in the field in Europe. The approach will be validated against key behavioural issues facing mobility decision-makers: increasing automation, door to door seamless smart mobility, sustainable and energy efficient fuels and mobility and social inclusion. This enhanced understanding is developed into decision support guidelines (to be called ‘Mind-sets’) with a ‘Think Tank’ of practising mobility stakeholders (decision-makers, operators, developers and mobility system suppliers) to fine tune the guidelines to directly meet market needs. In turn, this will support decisions, create innovation future mobility policy and assist the design and marketing of new products and services. The project is strongly supported by an active exploitation and dissemination strategy, based on a ‘Mind-Sets Knowledge Centre’. The objective of the Specific Plan for mobility of the Vallès (PEMV) is the analysis of mobility to structure a competitive public transport system that is focused on the network of 'Interurban buses and a contribution to the railway network (existing and planned), to the interchange system, and at the same time give guidelines on urban parking policies. Narrative description of project: Sant Cugat del Valles, a city located 17 km North of Barcelona, has just over 80,000 inhabitants. The city's population has grown in the last decade more than 60%.Development of a traffic forecasting model and an assessment of Sant Cugat del Valles mobility, especially motorized mobility. The model is integrated into the Information System of the Sant Cugat del Valles City Council and is conceived as a tool for developing the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of Sant Cugat del Valles.

The project aims to assess passenger demand and profitability of the new orthogonal bus network of Barcelona. The new bus network will decongest urban transport system and improve the quality of public transport. The methodology used is the method for socioeconomic assessment of transport infrastructure (MAIT) developed by MCRIT for the Catalan Engineers Association.

The purpose of the study is realization of the diagnostic document on the metropolitan public transport that will serve as the basis for the elaboration of the Metropolitan Plan for Urban Mobility (PMMU) and the definition of the strategic objectives of this sectoral area. The work collects, for the whole of the AMB, jointly and globally, the study of the supply and demand of all the collective public transport of travellers, having in mind the diversity of users, the personal conditioners of its mobility, the different reasons for travel and its seasonality. Narrative description of project: The overall objective of the Master Plan is to identify problems and opportunities for improvement of the transport system and set up a framework of possible solutions. The master plan covers three counties - Varazdin, Medjimurje and Koprivnica - Krizevci - with each financing it with 5%. Together they have more than 400,000 inhabitants, 297 km of railway, 515 km of state roads, more than 1,100 km of county roads and nearly 1,300 km of local roads.

COMPASS explored how ICT (information and computer technology) and ITS (intelligent transport systems) applications can meet the future demands identified, favouring the integration of multi-modal transport solutions, and will assess how these solutions can contribute to the de-carbonisation of transport activities. In COMPASS co-modality is defined as "using the transport system so that a particular mode is used when it is the most appropriate one for a particular journey; this can involve intermodal trips, but may also involve single-mode trips”.


Solutions for optimised co-modality are identified and assessed, so that policy recommendations can be made.
