The year of Snake was verysuccessful as it brought Sino-Swiss relations to a new chapter. We believe that there willbe more cooperation between the two countries not only in commercial exchanges butalso in other aspects including academic, research, technology, innovation and so on. Atswissnex China (in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou), we believe that there are manyopportunities for cooperation. Therefore, we have added a new section to this newslettercalled Collaborative Opportunities. They highlight events, programs and projects thatwe have carefully selected. Collaborative OpportunitiesCall for proposals: Sino-Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation ProgramSSSTC (Chinese version here)Application deadline: 30 March 2014 Building on the previous success, the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research, andInnovation (SERI) and Minister of Science and Technology, P.R. China (MOST) are committedto continue the SSSTC for another 4 years (20132016). A call for Joint Research Projects(JRP; focus field: translational biomedicine and medical technology) proposals is launched bythe Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) (details here).
