The journey of Symbiosis Institute Of Health Sciences (SIHS) commenced on 10th November 2006, when it

became a proud member of the prestigious and acclaimed Symbiosis International University (SIU).

A pioneer in the field of health education, SIHS has conceptualized and developed the innovative

programme of MBA in Hospital & Healthcare Management (MBA-HHM), that equips future healthcare

and hospital managers to meet the goals of the growing healthcare sector.

SIHS is associated with several major healthcare organizations across the country & overseas. Through

Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Centre (SUHRC)

Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Centre (SUHRC) is currently a 300 bedded hospital (scalable to 700 beds), located within the SIUcampus at Lavale, Pune.

Besides, all the mother specialties, viz. Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, the SUHRC also has sub-specialty departments ofPediatrics with Neonatology (including an NICU), Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gastro-enterology, Urology, Nephrology with dialysisbeds, Pulmonology (chest medicine), Critical Care Medicine, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Cardiology (with a Cath lab), a full-fledgedPathology lab and a Blood bank. There are 16 ICU beds with 6 High Dependency Unit (HDU) beds. SUHRC has 5 large Operation Theatres,that cater to all the surgical disciplines, including one exclusively for Obstetrics & Gynecology. All theatres are ‘modular’ with 2 way datatransfer facilities.

The SUHRC provides top quality clinical services, which are protocol driven and evidence based. The nomenclature of a ‘University Hospitaland Research Centre’ conveys the thrust on academics and research, which is both interdisciplinary as well as translational. ETHICS withtransparency of operations is accorded topmost priority. Consultants are encouraged to join as full timers; eminent Doctors from Pune arealso empaneled as Visiting Consultants. Accommodation (limited) is provided on campus for Medical & Nursing staff.
