Who are we? Syncro is an organization active in the field of

education, personal development, skill trainings

and youth support. Syncro was founded in 2010.

with the aim of supporting the enhancement of

quality of living and development of human

potential through powerful educational and

personal development experiences. Being a part

of International Synergy Group we are joined in

the common vision of creating a world that

works for everyone.

Our Mission Our mission is to encourage young people to

reach their potential, to create a learning

space through personal development

trainings, to support education and

involvement of young people, especially

those with fewer opportunities, to provide

opportunities for cooperation in the youth

field and to create opportunities for

expression of creativity and enjoyment in life,

while including everyone.


Methods we are using The methods are of non-formal education: experiential learning, learning through playing, personal

development methods, outdoor education, creativity workshops, coaching, theater, and dance. The

organization is run by experienced youth workers, trainers and coaches. From start of organization in

2010, Syncro has been a partner in more than 100 international projects supported by Youth in Action

and Erasmus+. In 2014, Syncro gathered more than 20000 hours of volunteering and supported young

people in developing their personal and professional competences, by preparing them for the

experience, mentoring them during and supporting with the follow-up activities after returning to

Croatia.




Activities of Syncro are focused on youth support, education

and personal development. The purpose of activities is to

empower people to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge

for responsible and quality life, to become active citizens

and to take an active role in their lives and in the lives in

their communities. Including, implementation of the

international personal development trainings, youth

exchanges, experiential learning in the outdoors, teaching

various technical skills, coaching, group moderation,

communication skills, awareness programs, sports and

community projects, to learn how to overcome physical and

mental challenges that result in building self-esteem and

discovering one's own full capacities, which can later be

transferred to everyday life. Special accent is also given to

realizing social and environmental responsibility and

feeling the impact of one's actions on the group and society

as a whole.

Activities in Syncro Zagreb, capital of Republic of Croatia, is a political, administrative, cultural and economic

headquarter of the country. Larger metropolitan area counts a little bit more than a million

citizens. Many museums, clubs and cultural centres can be found in the city and all year round

Zagreb hosts many festivals and cultural events.

Syncro is involved in the community of Zagreb, especially in a community of young people.

Apart from the international work, Syncro is focused also on the local youth activites, and

providing support for young people in Zagreb and wider in implementing their ideas in the

community. The volunteers are involved in running the youth activites, supporting the users

and proposing activites for young people in the centre.Volunteers will be introduced to the

Croatian culture, its customs and basic language and will be asked to respect the laws and

regulations of Republic of Croatia.

Project environment




PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR VOLUNTEERS

Personal project The personal project will be a part of this EVS

that will give a space for the volunteers to create

something that they have always wanted to do,

something that is for free for the people

participating in it and something that aims at

improving the quality of lives in the local

community. Syncro will give support to the

volunteers by creating a frame for their actions,

coaching them to express their ideas, agreeing on

deadlines and next steps, but the content of

these projects will be created by the volunteers

themselves.

In order to contribute to better understanding of

different cultures the volunteers will organise different

events in order to present their cultures, or teach their

languages. These activities won’t be limited to the

countries involved in the project, but any other from

which the volunteers have the wish or the knowledge

to present.

Cultural workshops

The volunteers will organize a youth festival about

volunteering, involving local and international

volunteers in Zagreb. The festival will consist in

several events of different kind (the content will be

defined by the volunteers), promoting the value of

volunteering in the community of Zagreb.

The volunteers will support the organization in it’s

regular activities, such coordinating local and

international projects, “Projektarnica”(workshops on

projects writing and management), PR on social

media and media channels, graphic and video

material creation and editing, development,

maintenance and promotion of the new Syncro

website.

Organizational support

Volunteers will organise events where the people

who have previously participated in projects can

share their experiences. The idea of these events is

that they are both informative and educational.

Sharing experiences events

The volunteers of Syncro EVS Daring 2.0 will be

organising events, workshops, campaigns in

different places and formats or any new tools and

ideas with the aim of promoting ERASMUS+,

volunteering, non-formal education, international

projects, educational projects and mobility

projects for the young people and the youth

workers in our community, also creating

promotional material for that, with the support of

Syncro.

Event and workshop organization


Youth club gathers young people and gives them

space for learning, sharing ideas and meeting new

people. Volunteers be organizing Syncloud once a

month, with the support of Syncro. The topics they

want to do will depend on them, and each month a

new volunteer will be the team leader. This task

covers a lot of specific skills for everyone involved,

from team management to digital skills of graphic

design or presentation and communication skills as

well.

VOLUNTEER PROFILE

You come from either Italy, Macedonia, Lithuania, Spain or

Greece.

You are between 18 and 29 years old.

You are interested in learning more about non-formal

education.

You are open to new experiences and want to meet new

people from different countries.

You are motivated to do tasks and activities planned,

regardless of your previous experience

You are highly motivated to explore a new culture and to live

as a local.

You want to change something in your life, step outside of

your comfort zone and be inspired by other people you meet.

You are ready to share your experience and learn from others.

What can you get out of this project ?




PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Transportation

The volunteers will receive a bike from the organization that

they will be able to use in order to move around the city and

its surroundings.

Health insurance

CIGNA Health Insurance is provided to the volunteers as part

of the project. Insurance covers all of the medical costs

occurred during the voluntary service.

Pocket and food money

Volunteers will receive pocket money of 120 EUR/month and

food money of another 120 EUR/month.

Acommodation

All 5 volunteers will be living together in one flat/house for

the entire lenght of their European Voluntary Service. The

accommodation will be in Zagreb and the volunteers will be

having shared rooms and common spaces

Travel costs

Travel costs from volunteers country to and from Zagreb will

be reimbursed up to 275 EUR .
