LIMITATIONS• Do not apply prior to heavy rain - please see

information within the curing table on page 2

• Do not apply at temperatures lower than +5°C or higher than +35°C

• During the high summer, do not install when the deck is exposed to hot and direct sunlight. Apply the product during the cooler hours of the day

• Do not apply with a humidity level higher than 70%

• Always use the correct preparation and priming of the support substrate as directed within the appropriate Application Guide

Pallet: 48 buckets (1200 kg).

APPLICATION RATENewton 114 Acriflex is applied in two coats:

All surfacesNumber of coats = 2Thickness of each coat = 1 mmTotal thickness = 2 mmCoverage per coat = 1.25 kg/m²Total coverage = 2.5 kg/m²Coverage per 25kg container = 10 m²

ANCILLARY PRODUCTS• Newton 106 FlexProof - Purchase Code FP1, FP4.

Highly advanced single component elastomeric polymer for the waterproofing movement joints

• Newton 912-RT - Purchase Code 912-RT. Reinforcement Tape for reinforcing changes in direction and static joints

Further specification specific products such as primers, sealants and finishing coats are confirmed within the product Application Guides.

PROTECTION OF THE MEMBRANENewton 114 Acriflex is capable of resisting wear and weathering for up to 10-years, but we strongly recommend that the membrane be seen as an investment and is protected as soon as possible against possible damage. Protection methods include:

• Newton drainage membranes, Newton 407 & 408 DeckDrain, with paving or Intensive Green Roof over

• Newton 420 Reservoir drainage and water storage membrane with Extensive Green Roof over

• Ceramic Tiling adhered directly to the 114 Acriflex

• Newton 702 Floorgum Paint - UV stable foot traffic capable coating

• Newton 703 Floorgum Tyre - UV stable foot traffic capable coating

• Timber decking

• Paving

TRAINING AND COMPETENCY OF THE USERNewton 103-S should be installed by those with experience of structural waterproofing.

It is recommended that Newton 114 Acriflex and its ancillary products be installed by contractors trained by Newton Waterproofing Systems in the correct use and specification of the product.

LIFE EXPECTANCYWhen specified, installed and protected in accordance with the Data Sheet and Application Guides and only to those substrates confirmed within, Newton 114 Acriflex has a service life that can be equal to the design life of the structure.

Further information of the methods of protection of the membrane are confirmed below.

If the membrane is not protected it has a service life of 10-years, at which point the membrane will need to be inspected and may need replacing. The membrane will ‘yellow; due to the effects of UV light before 10-years, but the membrane will remain serviceable.

CURINGFor curing/drying times please see Technical Data on page 2. Newton 114 Acriflex is a cement-based product and so requires curing. Accelerated drying must be avoided. If the conditions are hot, sunny and/or very windy the finished membrane must be protected from accelerated drying with polythene sheeting, damp hessian or similar.

In floor and deck applications, coloured sands or grit can be cast liberally onto the surface to provide effective curing, whilst also creating an abrasion and slip resistant finish.

Curing must commence within 10-15 minutes of the completed application of the coating.

Newton Waterproofing Systems reserve the right to update product literature at any time. Please always refer to our website for the latest versions.

COLOURGrey - Coloured UV stable protective finishes available.

CLEANINGThoroughly clean all tools and equipment with water after use.

STORAGEStore in dry conditions at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C with containers fully sealed. Do not expose to freezing conditions.

If these conditions are maintained and the productpackaging is unopened, a shelf life of up to 12months can be expected.

POT LIFE & FURTHER USENewton 114 Acriflex is a two-part product and a chemical curing reaction starts as soon as the two parts are mixed. Pot life is very good at 24 - 30 hours, but after this period the mixed product will be unworkable and will need to be safely discarded.

HEALTH & SAFETYUse appropriate PPE for the environment the system is installed within. Use products only as stated within this Data Sheet and the MSDS and Application Guides.

SPRAYING SPECIFICATIONNewton 114 Acriflex can be sprayed with an airless spray machine. For information on the machine and configuration, please contact our Training Department.
