TractorPropulsionissuppliedbyahighlyreliable,all-pneumaticdriveassembly,requiringaminimum90PSIGairsupply.Lessthan2CFMisconsumedatnormaloperatingspeedsof6”to2’perminute.Alldriveassemblymaterialsarecorrosion-resistantandthetractorishousedinstainlesssteel.Ifthetractor’spathisblocked,thedrivemechanismcanwithstandanindefinitestallwithoutdamage.Alocaterjetestablishestheunit’spositionwithouttheuseoftrailingfloats.

Suction Header PipeLengthanddiameterofthestainlesssteelheaderpipeandthesizeandnumberofsuctionorifices aredeterminedbytheapplication.

Programmable controls solve tough settling problems for Louisville, ColoradoOperatorsatLouisville’swatertreatmentplantface aproblemthatothersmightfindenviable.

Turbidityofinfluentwaterissolow(normallyless than1NTU)thatsettlingthosesolidsthatdoexistisextremelydifficult.Theirsolutionhasbeentostockpilesludgefromtheclarifiersandrecycleittotheflocculator.Thisachievesturbiditiesinexcessof1000NTU,allowingexcellentflocformationandgoodpolishingperformancefromtheclarifiers.Periodically,awastecyclesendsexcesssolidsbacktotheclarifierwhichthenfunctionsasathickener,withflowfromthesludgecollectorsdischargedtothemunicipalwastewatersystem.Successfuloperationisdependentonthesludge removal system accommodating fluctuating solids loadingandchangingpatternsofdeposition.Toachievethis,ourengineersprogrammedTrac-Vaccontrolstoprovideseveraldifferentcollectionmodes.

Innormaloperationwithsolidsrecycling,collectorsrunshorttripsstartedbyaclockinthecontroller,withonelongtripinevery24hourperiod.Duringwasting,collectorsruncontinuouslyinalternatinglongandshorttrips.Operatorscanalsoselectjustlongorshorttrips tocoveranydepositionpatternthatmayoccur.

Tailored Retrofit for Challenging Wastewater Treatment Basin at Roanoke, AlabamaAtailoredretrofitsludgecollectionsystemwasinstalledforthechallengingbasinatRoanoke.

Trac-Vacunitswereinstalledonconvergingrails,meetingattheupperendofthesloping,wedge-shapedbasin.Theconnectingsludgecollectionpipewassupportedbyacustom-builtstainlesssteeltruss. Athird,pivotingcollectorwasinstalledinacircular rail,replacingaconventionalrakesystem.
