Intel has opened R&D center in Tampere in 2011 and continues to grow (2011-2013)

• Within 100 days Intel started operations with 50 highly skilled engineers.

• The organic growth has continued and now Intel employs more than 200 engineers in Tampere region alone.

• It is estimated that about 2/3 of the Intel engineers in Finland are located in Tampere region and the rest in Helsinki metropolitan area.

Cargotec opened the Technology and Competence Centre in Tampere in 2013

• In the Centre, Cargotec's Kalmar business area focuses on the development of energy-efficient, safe and intelligent machinery and automation solutions.

• American-owned AGCO Power has invested over EUR 20 million to expand its diesel engine production plant located in the town of Nokia in the Tampere Region.

• The investment increases the annual production capacity of the factory from 38,000 to 50,000 engines.
