GRANDE PuNTO HITS THE MILLION MARK

IN THREE yEARSOn 21 November 2008, The one millionth Grande Punto has just rolled off the pro-duction line at Fiat’s factory in Melfi, Italy.

Built in right-hand drive form and destined for the UK market, the millionth Grande Punto is a Passion-ate Red Sporting version equipped with Fiat’s potent 1.4 T-Jet 120 bhp turbo pet-rol engine.

Grande Punto was launched in 2005, following in the

footsteps of two highly popular cars – the original Punto (from 1993 to 1999) of which 3,500,000 were built, and the second series (launched in 1999 and cur-rently still on sale in some markets under the name Punto Classic), whose pro-duction exceeded three million.

A successful model across Western Europe, the 2008 Grande Punto has recently been improved with the adoption of several new features aimed especially at younger drivers. The sports line (GP and Sporting) ac-

counts for a quarter of total sales, while 14 per cent of these drivers customise their cars with their own choice of stickers.

Standard Blue&Me hands-free telecommunications and entertainment equip-ment across the entire UK range, means that Grande Punto is eco:Drive enabled.

Available with 1.4-litre 8v and 16v petrol, and 1.3 and 1.9 MultiJet diesel engines, the 2008 Grande Punto range starts at £9,250 for the 1.4 8v Active, rising to £14,350 for the 1.9 MultiJet 130 Sporting.

Subaru’s award-winning Boxer Diesel en-gine – now available throughout the Leg-acy, Outback and Forester model range – offers the perfect fast, fun and frugal automotive experience for the current economic climate.

Lean (50.4mpg for the Legacy Saloon, 44.8mpg for the Forester), green (148g/km for the Legacy 2.0D R, 167g/km CO2 Forester 2.0D X) and with a class-leading insurance rating of 9 for the Forester X/XC, the Boxer Diesel engine is the per-fect engine for modern motoring; offering an unrivalled blend of performance and economy.

Top Gear presenter, James May recently discovered the multiple delights of the Boxer Diesel for himself, on a televised European road trip from Basel to Black-pool. Managing to get a Legacy 2.0D REn Sports Tourer to return an astonishing 63mpg, he made full use of the enormous 700+ mile range this engine can offer;

perfect for efficient cross-country cover-age.

No other competitor in class can match either the Legacy 2.0D R’s 50.4mpg, or the Forester 2.0D X’s combined 44.8mpg for fuel economy, nor can they better the engine’s class leading, green CO2 ratings, meaning annual Road Fund Licences are also kept low, at just £120 for the Legacy and £170 for the Forester.

Coupled with Subaru’s tried and tested, WRC-derived, brilliant symmetrical All Wheel-Drive system and the notoriously lightweight, low centre of gravity Boxer engine/transmission layout, the innova-tive Legacy and Forester Boxer Diesels are in a league of their own – offering a unique, economical, refined, stylish and engaging driving experience.

Prices for the Legacy start at £19,995 and the Forester starts at £20,295, on-the-road.

Golf Buggy Bonanza More than 450 used bug-gies descended on Banbury in recent weeks for two sales organised by Man-heim Auctions for Mox UK Ltd. The 453 lots offered for auction included golf buggies, electric transfer (4, 6 and 8 seaters) and golf course maintenance vehicles. Manheim has organised four auctions this year for Mox UK Ltd., a subsidiary of LeasePlan Corporation, and is scheduled to organise three auctions next year. So far more than 1,600 bug-gies have been sold by Manheim Auctions since 2004.

Buyers at the latest auction in Banbury included golf buggy deal-ers, golf courses, buggy hire companies and farmers. The auc-tions exceeded expectations with nearly 90% of lots offered sold.

Conceived and designed as a four-door grand touring sports car, the Panamera combines numerous talents in typical Porsche style: sporting driving dynamics, a generous and versatile interior, and the supreme driving comfort of a Gran Turismo. Joining the 911, Boxster and Cayman sports cars and the four-wheel drive Cayenne, the Panamera is officially the fourth Porsche model series.

In its styling and details, the Panamera follows the design philosophy refined over decades on the 911 and successfully imple-mented also on the Boxster, Cayman and

Cayenne. The luggage compartment easily takes every passenger’s baggage, the inte-rior’s ‘variable space concept’ with its fold-ing rear seat backrests enabling the driver and passengers to adjust the luggage space individually to their personal requirements. The coupé tailgate in the sporting rear end combines superior versatility for daily use with stylish elegance.

The new four-door Porsche Panamera gran turismo will be making its world debut in spring 2009, and the first models will be arriving in Porsche Centres worldwide from late summer next year.

FORD PASSES ON FuLL VAT SAVINGS Ford Motor Company Limited confirms that the full benefit of the 2.5 per cent reduction in VAT announced in the Chancellor’s pre-Budget statement yesterday, will be passed on to its passenger car customers.

Furthermore Ford will action the savings at all its UK deal-erships nationwide with immediate effect on car orders, provided payment and legal transfer takes place on or after the December 1 official start date.

The new 15 per cent VAT rate will remain in place until the end of 2009, and is applied on all new Ford cars including the recently-launched all-new Fiesta, where it represents a saving of approximately £200. Customers can expect to save around £350 on a £15,000 Ford Focus and £500 on a Ford Mondeo, S-MAX or Galaxy. Existing Ford owners will also save money on Ford’s parts and service prices, which also benefit from the 2.5 per cent tax reduction.

MITSuBISHI WINS APPEAL

AND CONFIRMS ENTRy IN WALES RALLy GB Guy Wilks’ Rally yorkshire victory reinstated

The Mitsubishi Motors UK works Rally Team is delighted to announce that its appeal against Guy Wilks’ exclusion from September’s Rally Yorkshire was upheld at a Motor Sports Council National Court hear-ing on Wednesday 26th November.

The decision sees Wilks and his co-driver David Moynihan reinstated as winners of the event, which represented round six of the Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Cham-pionship. Consequently, the team’s points score is also reinstated,

which means it now has the oppor-tunity of challenging to retain its British Driver’s and Team’s titles at this year’s Wales Rally GB.

The circumstance which brought about Wilks’ initial exclusion was a protest alleging that the upper part of his car’s steering column did not comply to Group N regulations. However, the MSC National Court agreed that although it was not the homologated item, it complied with Appendix J of the FIA International Sporting Code, article 254, section

6.7.3, which states that the controls may be adapted to facilitate their use and accessibility.

After crossing the line one-and-a-half minutes ahead of his rivals in Yorkshire, Wilks was over the moon to hear that his deserving victory had been reinstated and was delighted that he now has the opportunity challenge for the championship title for the second year in succession:

Mazda Motor Corporation will showcase the world pre-miere of the all-new Mazda3 (known as Mazda Axela in Ja-pan) 5-door hatchback at the Bologna Motor Show on De-cember 3, 2008. The second generation Mazda3 5-door hatchback follows rapidly on the heels of the new 4-door saloon version, currently on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The all-new Maz-da3 5-door hatchback adopts the same fresh characteristics as its saloon counterpart, offering sporty driving and a dynamic design, together with top class environmental and safety performance.

Environment-friendly quali-ties were top of mind at Mazda R&D during new Maz-da3’s development, including more efficient powertrains, Mazda-typical weight saving engineering solutions and fine tuned ‘best in class’ aero-dynamics.

The new engine line-up has been tailored for European customers and now includes the newly developed 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, recently launched in the new Mazda6, in addition to the existing 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol engines and the popular 1.6-litre turbo diesel.

The new 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine is a high-performance clean diesel powerplant with top class output, fuel econo-my and refinement. It will be offered in two variants, a high power version with a maxi-mum output of 185 PS, and a standard power version with a maximum output of 150 PS. Both have outstanding clean emissions performance and comply with the Euro Stage5 regulations. Fuel economy and CO2 emissions are also greatly improved compared to the current 2.0-litre diesel model.

Page 21: TarMag December

The Lamborghini Gallardo was already a successful supercar, but they decid-ed to make a SE ( Special Edition ) limited to 250 units. Two-toned body paint, sporty interior and some technical improve-ments make the Gallardo SE an even better Gallar-do. Coming well equipped with a permanent 4WD, 6 speed gearbox, alu-minium space frame, ESP and ASR, ABS, ABD, air conditioning, as well as two front and two side airbags which are always handy, but I’m sure you wouldn’t want to ever have to use them, well not on purpose anyways.

Arancio Borealis is the name of the lovely Or-ange colour on the Gal-lardo SE. Nero Noctis is the black colouring on the roof, engine bon-net, front/rear spoiler, and the two side mirrors making the Gallardo SE stand out from the norm. Slightly tinted rear lights, “Callisto” rims which look stunning, and coloured brake callipers also com-plete the Gallardo SE package. Continuing the two-tone approach, the interior piping, stitch-ing match the outer body colour of the car, “ Lam-borghini “ embossed on the headrests. The inte-rior stands out again from the previous edition of the Gallardo. Rear View

camera as standard, along with the multimedia screen entertain-ment unit, sports suspension, sports steering wheel amongst lots of other standard Gallardo features. The Lamborghini script is also preciously inserted into the dashboard.

The 5.0Litre V10 520bhp will thrust you from 0-60mph in a lightening 4.1 seconds. Getting to 0-60 around the 4 second mark takes allot of work, turning off the ESP and putting the car into

“Sport” setting, and well then floor the throttle with your “ heavy “ right foot and hold on! And then listen to the orchestra that comes free with the car, this being the engine and exhaust, probably the most amazing sound on earth. We hunted around all day for a tunnel to list to the noise of the Lamborghini engine, but unfortunately we were not successful. If it was me, I per-sonally would never turn on the sound system in the Lamborghini, why would you not want to listen

that gorgeous V10. Everywhere you go in any Lamborghini, people will turn around, wave, shout “ nice car mate “ ,and well Yes it is! Park up some-where fairly busy, and you will get a crowd, if I had a £1 for everyone who took a picture of the car, well I could personally afford one!

We would love to compare the Gallardo SE with the latest -

Lamborghini LP560/4, hopefully we can organise something in 2009. The Lamborghini Gallardo SE is one beautiful car, if you get to see one, stop, look, and lis-ten, not as if you were going to cross a road, because once you have listened, you will smile! We will be uploading some video footage we took so keep an eye out on our YouTube channel : www.youtube.com/tarmagazine

30 31

The new MINI Convert-ible is set to make a welcome return to UK roads in 2009, with a completely new version of the British-built fa-vourite due to go on sale on 28 March 2009.

MINI Cooper and Cooper S derivatives featuring

innovative engine tech-nologies will be offered at launch, meaning fans of the compact, pre-mium new MINI Con-vertible are guaranteed performance, frugality, minimal running costs and a unique image as standard. The MINI Coo-per Convertible will be

priced at £15,995 OTR and the MINI Cooper S Convertible will be of-fered from £18,995 OTR.

The first-generation MINI Convertible experienced remarkable sales success in Britain and was a best seller in the UK in the small convertible seg-

Page 31: TarMag December

30 31

ment between 2004 and 2008. Approximately 164,000 MINI Convert-ibles were delivered to owners around the world during its lifecycle. De-mand for its successor, complete with an array of technological and de-sign advances, is sure to be strong.

The unique aesthetics of MINI are clearly present in the new MINI Con-vertible. With a raised shoulder line, highlight-ed by a chrome strip which extends around the body of the car, the new MINI Convertible has a more purposeful

and dynamic stance than its predecessor. The low roofline, wheels in each corner and short overhangs at both the front and rear of the car denote the MINI Convert-ible’s sporting intent.Exclusive to the new drop-top will be two all-new colours to feature

Page 32: TarMag December

32 33

on a MINI. Inter-change Yellow and Horizon Blue will make their debuts on the second-generation new MINI Convertible. Con-trasting roof options add visual appeal to the newcomer, and British customers will be able to pick from Black, Denim Blue and Hot Choco-late when specify-ing their perfect MINI.

The automatic can-vas roof of the sec-ond-generation new MINI Convertible can be fully retract-ed or closed using a roof-frame mounted toggle switch in just 15 seconds. In the event of a driver being caught unex-pectedly by a sud-den downpour, this function will fully operate with the car at speeds of up to 20 mph.

As an alternative to the complete top-down driving experience, the full-width of the electric roof can be retracted by ap-proximately 40 cen-timetres to create the effect of a sun-roof. This function can be operated at speeds of up to 75

mph.

A unique feature typical of MINI will be the Openom-eter. Offered as an option, the Ope-nometer records the time spent by the owner driving with the top down, meaning passen-gers can measure their visual coolness inside, even if it’s cold outside.

Unlike its prede-cessor’s fixed anti-roll bars the new model features a single-piece roll bar situated behind the rear seats, ensur-ing passenger safety in the event of a crash. The roll bar will extend in milli-seconds at the point of impact to protect the car’s occupants should the car over-turn. Remarkably, this new arrange-ment in no way ob-structs the driver’s line of visibility when looking out of the rear window.

The case for the new MINI Convert-ible is strengthened further by the pres-ence of award-win-ning engines, allied to short-shifting and precise six-speed manual gearboxes.

Both models are available as an option with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The MINI Cooper Convertible is fitted with a four-cylinder petrol engine with fully variable valve management, using technology based on BMW Group’s VALVE-TRONIC technology.

The MINI Cooper S Convertible is pow-ered by a four-cyl-inder petrol engine with Twin-Scroll turbocharger and direct fuel injec-tion. This engine currently holds the title of Interna-tional Engine of the Year, in the 1.4-1.8-litre category.

The second-gen-eration new MINI Convertible will be built in Britain. The body shells will be pressed at MINI Plant Swindon, the engines will be built at BMW Group Hams Hall and assembly of the entire cars will take place at MINI’s Plant Oxford production facil-ity, alongside the MINI Hatch and MINI Clubman. We look forward to review-ing it when its re-leased.

The Autosport International Show has a history of spectacular innovation and great value for money, with several special features and exhibitions designed to allow members of the public to get as close as possible to all the cars, stars and action.

In 2009 there will be a real F1 pit-lane with a grid of 2008 car line-up; the Da-vid Coulthard Museum, celebrating the Scottish driver’s outstanding career, the adrenaline-fuelled Live Action Arena and the Autosport stage where fans can see motorsport celebrities being interviewed. In addition, displays that include Formula One and World Rally Championship cars as well as many other exciting vehicles from all forms of motorsport are set to dazzle the crowds.

Europe’s largest motorsport show, which is now in its 19th year, marks the start of the new motorsport season. The show has something to offer for everyone: motorsport fans, family, performance car lovers, children and of course compe-tition drivers.

• Motorsport fans: the leading stars from the glamorous and dynamic world of motorsport attend the show for personal appearances, questions and an-swer sessions and the ever-popular autograph signing sessions. Stars already confirmed for ’09 are Britain’s highest point-scoring Formula One driver David Coulthard and Le Mans winner Allan McNish, with many more big names to be announced soon

• Family: one of the best ways to experience the thrill of motorsport is at the now-legendary and dynamic Live Action arena, a spectacular range of dem-onstrations, as well as some breathtaking wheel-to-wheel racing. With some great competitions and extravagant stunts

• Performance car lovers: PistonHeads, the Performance Car Show, will occu-py a premium location within Autosport International following its success last year. The PistonHeads Show will host several new features, including the ‘Five Decades of the 911’ display, showcasing the legendary car’s design evolution over the years with over 20 Porsches. A display of the iconic BMW M brand cars will be on display as well as the Hand Built British Sports Car Pavilion

• Children: can not only get an opportunity to meet their hero but also get behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz A-Class and enjoy their first driving ex-perience thanks to Mercedes-Benz Brooklands, subject to them being over 1m 50cm. lEwiS HAMilTON (2ND EDiTiON)

As 2008 Formula 1 World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, knows, it’s all about being first. Which is why Haynes has published this new biography of Lewis Hamilton just hours after he crossed the finishing line of the Brazilian Grand Prix to secure the Championship.

Hamilton also appreciates the need for thorough preparation and Lewis Ham-ilton (2nd edition) has been compiled with painstaking accuracy and insight by the author, Andrew van de Burgt. Editor of Autosport, van de Burgt has reported on Hamilton’s progress in F3, GP2 and F1 and has come to know him well.

Lewis Hamilton is not just about mo-tor sport. The story of the family life of Britain’s new world champion – so im-portant to Hamilton – is told too. With 240 printed pages and 280 colour illus-trations, this is a world champion book about a remarkable World Champion.

The iconic cutaway illustrations on the front covers of Haynes car manuals have been an unmistakable identifying fea-ture for more than 40 years. Nowadays the cutaways are produced electronical-ly from a series of digital photographs, but for 20 years they were all hand-drawn in pen and ink, with nothing more than the traditional instruments - mostly by one man, with an attention to intri-cate detail which would have justified a far larger image than the manual cover allowed.

Now this collection of 100 classic cut-aways has been assembled in book form, allowing the full quality of the draw-ings to be appreciated for the first time. The selection reflects the make-up of the British car population in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and will bring back memories for many readers.

It can not be argued that a diary is one of life’s most simple, yet essential tools that gets us all through our day smoothly. However, they don’t have a reputation for an interesting read- until now. With the Haynes 2009 Desk Diary, the classic cutaways and model descriptions will have you engrossed for hours, unlike that meeting that you are supposed to be scheduling in!

Each double page offers a week-to-view with the month, dates and days identified clearly. Edge-of-page mark-ers aid quick reference to particular months and there is also a ribbon page marker.

The new Haynes Desk Diary, January to December 2009 is perfect for all car enthusiasts and would make an ideal Christmas present. It is available now from all good car accessory retailers or can be ordered from www.haynes.co.uk

foresterSubaru ForesterWe got to spend a week with the all new Subaru Forester diesel, how well did it perform? Well you are about to find out.

Based on the current Impreza platform, the all new Subaru Forester looks more of an off-roader. The Forester has Always had mixed reviews about its looks with previous versions, but until you have driven one, don’t comment on one. It was my first time driving the Forester, and to be honest, when it arrived, I was stunned. Okay so I don’t like maroon cars, but look-ing past the paint job you have a big spacious car. More importantly you have an all new Diesel 2.0L four-cylinder turbo-charged “boxer” engine. Subaru have anticipated that the all new Forester will ac-count for 80% of its sales, and will make a big impact into the compact SUV Market, and we agree with this!

62 63

What’s impressive about the all new diesel “boxer” engine is you actually will get over 40mpg on short runs, long runs, motorway journeys, etc. In terms of performance be-tween the petrol and diesel versions of the Forester, the Diesel has 145bhp with the petrol’s 148bhp. The Die-sel however wins hands down when it comes to fuel econ-omy, with an amazing 44mpg for the Diesel, compared to the Petrol’s 33mpg. Even more impressive is the response this car gives you, with permanent four-wheel-drive the Forester can tackle most situations and road conditions. Equipment on even the stan-dard levels is enough to keep you occupied including; cruise-control, climate con-trol, self levelling rear sus-

pension, radio/CD player, fog lamps, heated front seats ( which heat up nice and quick-ly on cold winter mornings ), electric windows all round, and ample air bags for driver, passenger’s. The Forester we had, had the Keyless smart entry system with push but-ton start. This comes in handy if carrying something to the car, you can unlock the car by pressing the button on the door if you don’t have your hands free to press the keys ( although you would need the keys in your pocket for it to work ). Once in the car, foot on the clutch, and a green light comes on the push start button, and you’re ready to go!

The Forester is now in com-petition with the likes of the

Page 64: TarMag December

64 65

Toyota Rav4, Nis-san’s X-Trail, Honda’s CRV, and the Mitsubi-shi Outlander. All the cars are similar in size, engine spec, and equipment. The New Forester is now 75mm Longer, 45mm Wider and 110mm in height. An amazingly sized boot, more leg room, and a higher drivers eye-line help make this Forester a good all round car.

With permanent four-wheel-drive, the For-ester is ideal if you stay out in the sticks and regularly drive on slippery, wet, muddy roads. You will find that the Forester of-fers endless amounts of grip, but also pull out of the corners, the new suspension set up body roll is kept to a minimum, and keeps you nice and comfy. The car is great fun to drive, the seating po-sition can be changed with ease with electric seating, and as men-tioned earlier the front heated seats are a real bonus on cold win-ter mornings. The Car we had featured the touch screen satnav/DVD based option. Easy to use, also included a easy to read full consumption gauge,

which you can monitor your current and over-all fuel consumption. Which is scary when sitting at 70mph and its reading 41+ mpg.

X, XC, and XSN are the three new trim mod-els available on the all new Subaru Forester. With all models includ-ing alloy wheels, all round electric win-dows, plenty airbags, climate control, CD/radio, and much more. XC adds larger alloys, roof spoiler, large sun-roof. XSN adds SatNav, leather seats and start push button. Prices on the Subaru Forest-er start from around £19k, also with insur-ance group as low as 9E makes the Forester an all round great pur-poseful car!

I’ve decided to give the Subaru Forester Diesel 4 out of 5, for a 2Litre turbo-charged “boxer” diesel engine to produce 40+mpg, to look modern, stylish, to be comfy on long and short journeys, it’s an all round great SUV. For more details, check out www.subaru.co.uk or pop into your local dealer for a test drive, its definitely worth it!

prevIew2009 F1 Season PreviewNext year we plan on following the F1 in a big way, so here is a 2009 season preview.

71

f1 2009 prevIew

Page 72: TarMag December

72 73

2009 UPDATEThe 2009 F1 season will see a number of changes by the FIA with the aim of increasing reliability and reduce costs. Technically not allot of changes will happen, the FIA have set 3 objectives, keep lap times in check, reduce the role of aerodynamics, and make over tak-ing easier. Also in the 2009 Season, expect to see Slicks, after 10 sea-

sons of being on grooved tyres, F1 is making a return to slicks. Grip is expected to increase by 20%, drivers will still have the choice of tyre compounds but still have to use both during a race. Another new feature to the 2009 season is KERS, also known as Kinetic Energy Recovery System. In simple terms, KERS allows the normally wasted energy generated by the brak-ing process to be stored and then made available to the driver via a

Page 73: TarMag December

72 73

“boost button”, the power equates to around 80 horse power, but this could work out to several tenths of a second in terms of lap times.

The 2009 F1 season also makes a come back to the BBC after it switched to ITV 12 years ago. First added benefit is of course NO AD-VERTS! I personally found annoying watching a F1 race, and it gets ex-citing, and it cuts to adverts! But thankfully the BBC don’t have this

issue! David Coulthard, Eddie Jor-dan, along with ex-F1 and ITV F1 broadcaster Martin Brundle, and Jonathan Legard from 5 Live take on the presentation of F1 on the BBC for the 2009 season. We very much look forward to giving you a monthly update on the F1 season next year, and hopefully have full coverage of the races. On page 77 we have got a copy of the 2009 season calendar, so check it out.

When did you get into photography?

I’ve been interested in photography since I was little. My uncle has been a keen photographer for over 25 years and I’ve always admired his work. I was only able to get into it in a big way a few years ago when I could afford a decent digital SLR camera. Since then I’ve taken photos of all sorts of things, from spiders in Arizo-na to waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales. These days it’s something anyone can learn with a little bit of money and because every-thing is digital now, it doesn’t cost anything to make mistakes!

How did you know you wanted to be a professional pho-tographer?

It was never something I really considered when I was young. I did a computer programming related degree at university and since I graduated I’ve been working as a web developer, which is still my 9-5 job. When I’m not at work I love to get out with my cam-era, even when it’s not for freelance work. The varying weather in England, while a pain in the arse for some, makes sure that you get a wide variety of differently styled photos throughout the year.

What made you choose automotive photography com-pared to landscapes or weddings?

While I don’t like to label myself as purely an automotive photog-rapher, I think there are some beautiful looking cars out there, and as long as they’re done up in the right way, with good taste in mind, they can make for cracking photos. I think landscape and automotive photography can go hand in hand. I like to combine the two and have a lovely landscape providing the backdrop to a great car photograph.

Is there anyone you look up to for inspiration for your photography?

Just about the entire Flickr community! There are some awesome photos on Flickr, and it’s a great way to share your photos with others and get some feedback while you’re at it. Other than that, I have friends and family who are into photography so it’s good to see their work and share ideas.

Has anyone helped you on your way?I’ve always looked up to my uncle for advice, as he’s been into photogra-phy for so long. But the internet is such a great resource for helping yourself when it comes to learning new things.

What is the oddest car you have photo-graphed?Probably the 1970 Ford Bronco I photographed while in America. My mate and I were volun-teering at a rally at the time, so we went up a few days early in our hire car to meet the head vol-unteers. When they told us we’d be a road block, we assumed the rally went through a small

town. We ended up 20 miles into the desert do-ing a recce of the rally stages in our brand new hire car. After about an hour we hit a muddy patch, slid our car into a rock and spent the next 2 days cleaning it to make sure we didn’t get charged!

What cars have you photographed?I’ve photographed loads of cars! Do you want me to list the lot?! =)

What car would you love to photograph?I’ve not photographed a supercar yet. I’d love to take photos of a Lam-borghini or the Bugatti Veyron. I just need to

find someone who has one!Where can people see your work?On my Flickr page - http://www.flickr.com/photos/threep-wood/There’s not a great deal of photos there, but there’s a taster of my collection. Flickr is such a great tool for a range of photogra-phers from amateurs to professionals. It can be used for showcasing your work and getting feedback on your pho-tos. There’s also groups which you can use to receive, and ask for, advice on photographic techniques.
