PRENACE(First Edition)

This treatise tifled'NewTechniques of Prediction' isbrought forth in two parts for certain conveniences of -reference. The first part contains all the rudimentaryelements and rules under general Astrologr arranged ina systematic manner enabling easy reference. Inaddition to what is available in standard classic works, Ihave included very many new and unknown secretsafter long research. My object is to render my treatiseuseful for both the beginner and the advanced student ofastrologr. As far as possible I have avoided unnecessaryand hazy ides, retaining only those that have stood trueby research. This part II edition is designed to cohtainchiefly predictive portions, the elementary ones beingincluded in Part I. This is a rare and valuablepublication containing precious dictrms not knovm tomany so far - 'A Million Dollar Worth' as one of thereaders has expressed. I have tried to handle the subjectin a mathematical way winnowing all alternatives anddoubts. On application of my theory you will yoursefrealise its merits. There is nothing new - no newinvention. As I have once before exllressed no humanbeing of ordinary intellect can add on even an atom to itas his ovvn. What an intelligent astrologer should do is tomerely digest the proper meaning of our classicdictums and apply them diligently. That is what I havedone and that is what I expect of you all. Added to it longresearch work is needed. It is only by way of researchthat I have been able to place before you the wonderfuleffects of Thithi, Weekday, Star, Yoga etc. The DivisionChart or Phala Kundali is a unique product of my longrese,trch which is a tangible foundation for correct

The Chapter on Dasha Bhukti is exemplary. Gocharais treated by me in a new style which gives better resultsthan the traditional method of reckoning from moon. Nowhere you have seen the wonderful Daily and Hourlyreading I have narrated. I-astly, very many controversialand misconceived subjects, which have been more or lesstraditional sayings without tangible truth in them are dis-cussed at leng;thwith illustrations.

In short, this treatise is a revelation of hidden truth.I feel satisfied if the public digest these principles welland try to apply them in their future handling ofhoroscopes.Ha setof enthusiasts of any place in India or abroaddesire to be coached on these and other lines I amprepared to honour their invitation. Chapter IThithi and Yoga

Those that have notread myArticles on this subjectmay feel surprised to know that for correct predictionsThithi, Week day, Star, Yoga and IGrana which form thefive fundamental parts of a Panchanga (meaning panchallngas i.e., five limbs) are as important as other things.All of us use the star, that too under limitations; andmost of us leave off the res! with the result we are left inthe lurch and the sacred science decried by our folly orignorance. Is it not a common say that one is born aYoga-Purusha (forhmate person)? But few know its realsignificance as we had not known so far the mode ofusing both Yoga and Thithi for Predictions. For thebenefit of my friends, I disclose below the Golden Truflrsin Astrologr. First I dwell on Thithi and yoga, the restwill be dealt with later. In Sanskrit Thithi meansSubtraction, while Yoga means Addition. Ihe differencein position between Moon and Sun gives flrithi while thesum-total of dtem glves yoga. There are 3O Thithis and27 Yogas. Each yoga is controlled by a star in thechronological order, the first Vishkamba yoga startingwith the star Pushyami. The lord of the yogia s its stellarlord. In addition to this chief birth yoga pLanet, the lordof the Rasi containing the birth yoga point will alsobecome another yogi called .Duplicate yogi,. As per this theory there is only one enemy for eachplanet and all the 9 planets are grouped into 3 sets of 3each. The 3 planets in each set belong to one gfoup ofcommon friendship. Thus when any one of the threeplanets becomes a yogi the other two automaticallyimbibe yoga character and this is specially noticed in thecase of Rahu. So I have narratedyoga effects in Chapter I of Part I.

The effect of a planet gets modified by thecondition, sihration, conjunction or aspect of its stellarlord.

Chart: f5- Shukra, lord of 4 and 9 is with AvayoglKuja and also in moon's star and that moon is furtheraspected byAvayogi Kuja. In her Shukra Dasha both herparents lost tfreir finance, name and wealth and werepractically reduced to penury. See how her sun's Dashahas remodelled. Sun in Ashwini (Ketu Star) should havespoiled her Ravi Dasha. On the other hand it was in her- Ravi Dasha that the entire family prospered. See thisstellar lord Ketu is with Budha (Birth Yogr). Hence themodified good effeclChart: 26 - Both Sun and Moon being in lGttr starsthe two Dashas should have spoiled the Native'sprospects, but they were the best periods. Ketu is notonly in 6 but in Zero-Rasi.

Theory 32When there is mutual exchange between the StellerLords of any two planets the effect of the one will be feltduring the period of the other.Chart : 75 - Here Moon and Shukra have their

stellar lords mutually exchanged. Shukra, lord of 4,being in Moon Star (Lord of 6 aspected by Kuja) shouldhave caused illness to mother. But this evil waspostponed to Moon Dasha when her mother all of asudden had a paralytic stroke.

Of the two Rasis onmed by the plane! if one is posi-tive and the other Negative the effects will bevaried.Chart : 15 - Shukra is the lord of Positive 4 andNegative 9 (as 9 is Zero-Rasi). As lord of Positive 4 in thestar of lord of 6, he causes illness to mother. As lord ofNegative 9 in the star of lord of 6 his fatherrs prosperityis revealed. That is exactly how it has happened in herMoon Dasha (due to mutual exchange). Mother-a paralytic patientwtrile fatherwas earning Rs. 5OO/- p.m.and healthy.

Theory 34If Lagna be in Birth Yoga Star he will be prosperousfrom birth to death. Reverse will be the case if born inAvayoga Star.Chart : 27 - WM is at Srayana (the Star of YogiMoon). So since birth he has been prospering.Chart : 7O - Laqgta is exactly in Birth Yoga star

Ahoroscope may containYoga trutwhenwill it come to fruition is the anxiety of a consultee. Apoor horoscope backed by good Dashas is far better thana rich horoscope with poor dashas. Sometimes it may so

happen that such Yoga Dashas may not at all act in one'sIife ntren dre native will be simply dreaming of his pros-pects. Or, itmay intervene in childhood teens or old agewhen he would not be in a position to enioy it. So it isabsolutely necessary thatYoga Dashas should operate inone's life at proper age of enjoyability. What purpose wouldit serve if the Dasha of a planet which is good forconjugal happiness or professional felicity operateseither in childhood or dotage? In such cases he may haveo'nty the mental satirsfaction rather than physical.

Next comes the most intricate problem ofascertaining the effect of Bhukti Lord. One may besuccessfrrl with Dasha Reading but very many are likelyto falter in fte proper handling of Bhukti effects. We haveseen several texts on this subjecL After all they follow arigmorole way far from actuality. "furwrdn Chinbmani"and 'I{rishna lWisriam'are voluminous editions thatnarrate a lot on this topic. Alas, they are not helpful forcandid prediction. In my ensuing Chapter, I deal withflre same but more intelligently handling the subject. Stillunder this usual method of Dasha Bhukti Readingssometimes doubts mayarise. Hence, we mustfind a wayout of this ambigUity. We experience ftrat the same Bhukti

I expound in this chapter asystem by which proper aslsessment of Bhuktis may bemade at a mere glance without ambiguity. The changingnature of Bhukti Lord may be easily seen from the theoryinvolved in the framework of this Novel Dasha Chart- notknovyn so far to most of us till at least the publication ofnry articles in the Astrologtcal Mag;azine. n my Chapter - I,Part I on Thithi and Yoga, I have stated that for correctprediction Thithi, Yoga, Nakshatra and Week Day areneeded. Of these I have used the first three elements.Now I use the Week Day also. Under this theory theeffect of Dasha l-ord has to be read out from the BirthChart reckoning Thithi, Star and Yoga as detailed inChapter - I of Part - 1, except some special featrres thatwill be pointed outlater. The effects of Bhukti lords haveto be read out from the Dasha chart treating their'Starters'and. 'Rulers'akin to their Stellar Lords andapplying all the Rules enunciated in Chapter-I of part - 1on Thithi and Yoga. It is an undisputed fact that of all the planets Sunand Moon pLay a very important role both on humanbeings and also on the other planets. In fact they arenamed Ilminaries and the rest as planets. Any light orpower to others should emanate only from theseIlminaries. It is this basic principle that is made use ofhere. As we deal with Udu-Dasha we are mostlyconcerned with stellar positions rather than Rasipositions. When we deal with a Dasha based on Rasi,then Rasi positions should be taken. The two should notbe mixed up. 2A NTP-IITo have a clear perspective of a Dasha it is not enough

if the mere name of the Dasha Lord is said. Inaddition, the actual Dasha Star has to be known. Fore>rample, n the cited Chart-1 of 19-6-1907 at birth timeit was Uttara-4, Sun Dasha sihrated in tenth Bhava. Youknow there are 3 varieties of Sun Dasha viz., Uttara in1O, U-Shada in 1 and,2 and Krithika in 5 or 6. Each oneis of a different trait obtaining from its situation withreference to I-agna and the nahrre of the Stars. For thenature and characteristic of stars, please refer toChapter-Il of Part-l,

I said that at birth it was Uttara-Sun Dasha; nextfol lows Hasta-Moon Dasha, Chit ta-Kuja Dasha,Swati-Rahu Dasha, Vishaka-Guru Dasha, Anuradha -Shani Dasha and so on. While working out a Dasbaffiiitthe star of Moon should be taken as the actual star ofDasha in question. In the square formed by the Planets column andits stellar l-ords Row, the concerned Starter falls.Instead of putting the star write out its lord (as per UduDasha Lordship). Then that Planet becomes the starterof that Bhukti lord. Here you will notice one symmetryamong starters. In any Dasha all the starters belong onlyto one group of triple planets vtz., (l) Ketu, Moon, Guru,(2) Shukra, Kuja, Shani and (3) Sun, Rahu, Budha. ThisI have explained at length in Chapter - I, Part -l onYoga. Ukewise their enemies are also fixed up. For theready reference of my readers I repeat them here.

To the first set of planets the second set areenemies as follows :Sun-Shani, Moon-Budha, Kuja-Kehr, Budha-Kuja,Guru-Sun, Shukra- Guru, Shani-Moon, Rahu-Shukra andKettr-Rahu.

Example to work out Starter :In the above chart, suppose we want the starter ofRahu in Guru Dasha, Sun star (Mrigasira) to Rahu star(Punarvasu) is 3. Double of it is 6. To this add the no ofstars from progressed Moon's Star (Vishaka) to that of

Rahu (Punarvasu) i.e., 19. Thus total is 2b. This addedto Birth week day (Wednesday no.4) makes 29.As this exceeds 27 (one cycle of stars), dividing by27 we get 2 as remainder. Reckoning always fromKrithika, the 2nd star is Rohini. Thus the starter of Rahu

If you work out in full you will seethat all the starters belong to the group of Kehr, Moonand Guru. This trio are muhral friends and if any one ofthem becomes a Yoga planet the other two automaticallybecome Yoga-like planets.

3. RulerOnceyou locate the Starteritis easytofindthe Ruler.The Starter is obtained by equating the planet with itsStellar Lord. What he would be if he were himseffis whatfixes the Ruler. See how many squares dovm is the Rowof the pLanetfrom that of its Stellar I-ord and progress somuch from that starter in the order of Udu-Dasha. Thatplanet becomes the Ruler. Fix him up in that square.Similarly work out for all. Note that in the case of I ^gna,the Starter and the Ruler is one and the same planel Onthe other hand if you move upwards you will have todigress the order. For e:rample, to find the Ruler of Rahuin Guru Dasha of the above chart : Rahu equated withhis stell,ar lord Guru becomes Moon (Starter), but equatedwith himself what he would be? In the Dasha Chart thesquare of Rahu Col. and Rahu row is sihrated one placedovm the Starter (Moon). So progress the Starter Moonby one more Dasha. You get Kuja. Put him in that square.Thus the Ruler is Kuja. In Guru Dasha, Moon is theStarter (Rohini) and Kuja is the Ruler (Ililrigasira beingnext to Rohini). The method of Division Charts is quite handy'intelligible, mathematically precisive and splendid toowhich has been very much appreciated by all thereaders of my previous Articles in Prof' B.V Raman'sAstological Magazine. With this brief preamble I takemy readers now to the flreory of Division Charts.il TTIEORYOFDIVISION CIIARTS

The Division Chart is the Varga Kundalis used toascertbin the Sthana Bala of a planet such as Rasi, Hora,Drekkana, Navamsha, Dwadashamsha, Trimshamsha etc.called Shadvarga Bala or sit'old strength of a planet.Varahamihira and Sripathi have narrated only 7 Yargaswhile Mantreswara quotes 1O Vargas. In BrihalparasharaIfora Shastayou get many more. Still for prediction somemore are needed. I have supplied the deficiency out of arare publication. Hereafter I call the several Vargas bynotation as follows. Rasi as Division 1 or by shorternotat ion as D-1, Hora as D-2, Drekkana as D-3,Chaturamsha as D-4 and so on ' the numera lsrepresenting the order of the Division. As stated beforeeach Division Chart is used to ascertain the nature of aparticular aspect in life. As present I have been able tocull out 2O Divisions and they are Divisions l-2-3-4-5-6'7-8-9- f O-1 -12- 16-20-24-27 -30-40-45-60. Generally, I do not like things said at random like aparticular combination of planets causing a particulareffect at a particular age or that a particular chart has tobe worked out as per part icular rule and so onsuppressing the fundamental basic principles on whichthese theories are built. Any of us desire to know thefundamentals than their off-shoots. I would not relishsuch suppressed knowledge. you may publish a book ofthousand planetary combinations. Buihow far will thathelp you? To locate your particular combination it taxesyou much and it may so happen that your combinationsmay not at all be there or if there be the readings maynot turn out to be true. Instead, if the fundamental basicprinciples are given out one can emulate not thousandsbut even crores of combinations.In this case texts lay down rules for the framing upof these charts. One is different from the other. ffre" adoubt arises as to whether trrese rules are dictated atrandom by any celestial personality or one framed out offundamental basic principles. In odd Rasi it commencesfrom itself and in even Rasi from its seventh.Take D-B ,' Mesha parts cover from Mesha torVrischika, Vrishabha parts from Dhanus to I(ataka andMithuna parts from Simha to Meena and again the sameorder of Mesha, Dhanus and Simha repeats. (I) Diuision-l @A)-Rasi (AII effects).This is known to all and itis the essential basic chartupon which others are evotved. It comprises the sum-total effects in one's life. This must be first perused alongwith Bhava Chart before going to other Divisions. I-ord-ship of planets should always be looked into only in RasiChart and not in other charts except the lords of Ascen-dants of Division Charts. to thecharacteristics of Rasis and Stars should Le read outonlyfiilr-ical, own or exaltation house, its conjunctions andaspects, its position from Ascendant and other planetsand all Yogas, being judged from all charts. Please notethat a planet in combustion is always an eclipsed planetin all the charts. You know how to erect this chart (SeePart I).

(II) Diuision -2 (tfl)-Hon (Wealfl1)In odd signs the first Hora belongs to Sun ranging

from O to 15 Degrees while the latter half is of Moon. Ineven signs it is reversed. So no separate sign positionsare allotted to form a full chart. This table does not show Amsha parts of allDivisions. Divisions 2-3-4-5.6-LO-L2-2O and 6O are nottabulated as they may be readily struck being wholesomemeasurements not involving fractions as in the case ofthe Divisions included in this table.

Divisions 7-8-9-11 and 16 are worked to 12 stagesonly and Divisions 27 up to 9 stages only. The reason isthis :I For example, wtrite working tln'e D-24 for planetssituated within 15 degrees count the parts as shown inthe Table. If a planet is more than 15 degrees thensubtract 15o out of it and find the part represented bythe balance. That represents its count.

Similarly in the case of D-4O divide the planetaryposition in Degrees etc. by 9 and find the partcorresponding to the remainder.Likewise for D-45 divide by 8 and take theremainder. In the case of D-27 up to 1O degrees findthe parts. Exceeding 1Oo and below 2Oo divide by 1O

Likewise however powerfully and favourably aplanet is situated in D-1, if he is in Dustana in theD-chart he gives bad effects of that D-chart.(3) Having concluded the good or bad effect as per

Rules 1 and 2 above the maglritude of the effect has tobe judged from both D-l and D-charts as follows : .(a) If the planet has any kind of Shadbalas[Temporal (Kalaja), Motional (chesta), exaltatiop. (uccha), Direct ional (Digbala) ' Decl inato4y(Ayanabala) or Positional (Sthanabala)l in D-char{
