Although clamps are often a small andinexpensive part of the overall equipmentpackage within which they are included,their functionality and reliability areparamount to the performance of thesystem as a whole. For this reason,Teconnex operates a stringent qualitysystem, which ensures quality is built in at every stage of design andmanufacture.

Computer Aided Design and databasetechniques are used to ensure thateffective and efficient designs aregenerated. Where necessary, FiniteElement Analysis (FEA) techniques can be applied to optimise clamp design,prior to prototype design verification using comprehensive in-house testfacilities.

Following design completion, design and manufacturing details are enteredinto the integrated business system andcustomer requirements are added togenerate materials and manufacturingdemand.

All materials used by Teconnex arecertified and manufacturing quality ismonitored throughout using acombination of in-process and finalinspection /testing.

Teconnex is accredited to BS.EN.ISO9000and holds a number of second partymanufacturing approvals from animpressive, world class customer base.

V Band Clamps

V Band Clamps are used to pull togetherand connect two circular flanges. Theresulting joint is much lighter, easier to fitand maintain and requires less spacethan a joint using bolted flanges. Due totheir ability to ‘wrap around’ the flangeprofile, V Band Clamps give a moreconsistent axial load to the joint than arigid cast clamp for improved sealing.

By taking advantage of the wide choiceof clamp designs and closingmechanisms, V Band Clamps canfunction reliably and safely underconditions involving stress, vibration,corrosion and temperature variation.Teconnex has an extensive range ofclamp profiles and manufactures V BandClamps from 35mm to 3 metre diameterand beyond.

Ring Clamps

Originally developed as a cost-effectiveclamp solution for connectingautomotive turbocharger casings, RingClamps are now used in many differentapplications. They offer similar benefitsto V Band Clamps over other methodsof connection and can be moreeconomical both in terms of materialsand methods of manufacture. Due totheir inherent stiffness, they are notsuitable where frequent decoupling isrequired or in diameters below 100mm.

Band Clamps

Band Clamps are used for clampingtogether two push-fit pipes.Applications include clamping flexiblehoses to solid pipes, connectingsections of exhaust systems andbundling securely together groups ofpipes. Teconnex Band Clamps are of a T-bolt design that offers greaterstrength and a reduction in componentdamage often associated with wormdrive clips.

Pressed Clamps

The generic term Pressed Clamp isafforded to a range of clamps producedon an engineer-to-order basis byTeconnex. Each clamp is designed to a specific customer applicationrequirement and generally requiresspecial manufacturing tooling. The resultis a clamp that is extremely costeffective per individual component oncetooling costs have been covered.

Teconnex has extensive applicationknowledge and Pressed Clamp designexperience. Concept designs and pricescan be quickly generated. TypicalPressed Clamp styles include DoubleBolted, G Coupling, Hinged and Flexi-ring Clamp designs.

Heavy Duty and Hygienic Clamps

The Teconnex range of Heavy Duty andHygienic Clamps are manufactured fromheavy V section materials with sealwelded solid lugs. This results in aproduct which is suitable for food,beverage and pharmaceuticalapplications and provides extra strengthfor high pressure or high piping loadapplications. Teconnex offers the HeavyDuty and Hygienic Clamp range with anumber of different closure mechanisms,including the patented safety toggle leverfor use on pressurised vessels. This safety feature prevents the inadvertent full opening of the clamp until pressure has been released.

Flexi-joints

Flexi-Joints are a range of generalpurpose pipe connectors that enableapproximate lengths of otherwiseunfinished piping to be coupled togetherwith the aid of just a spanner.Manufactured in electro-plated mildsteel, these couplings can be equippedwith seals in a range of materials suitablefor coolant, mild chemical and elevatedtemperature (to 150°C) applications.Their compact size and flexible radialpositioning makes them ideal forconfined and inaccessible positions.Another major benefit of Flexi-Joints istheir ability to attenuate the transmission of vibration and noise along piping runs.

Ranges and styles

Teconnex clamps are offered in variousranges and styles to suit virtually anyapplication. Closure mechanismsinclude conventional bolted, single andmulti T-bolt, “loop couplers” for quickdisengagement of the bolt and togglelevers. Teconnex has a large number of V sections to cover a wide range ofdiameters and applications.
