Teollinen internet– Suomen suuri mahdollisuus
30.1.2015
Jukka Viitasaari
Suomella ei mene hyvin
Suomen talouskasvu on pysähtynyt,
koska työn tuottavuus ei kasva
3
Tuottavuuden kasvu ei ole koskaan ennen
pysähtynyt rauhan oloissa
4
Elintaso (bkt/asukas) on viimeksi kasvanut
yhtä hitaasti 1800-luvulla
5
Digitalisaatio (ICT) pelastaa?
Euroopan komission ex. varapresidentti Neelie Kroes 7.10.2013.
Digitalisaatio on suuri mahdollisuus
”Digitaalisia palveluja
hyödyntävät pk-yritykset
kasvavat kaksi kertaa
muita nopeammin, vievät
kaksi kertaa muita
enemmän ja luovat
kaksinkertaisen määrän
työpaikkoja.”

Digitaalinen liiketoiminta käytännössä
• Dokumenttien sähköistäminen
• Liiketoimintaprosessien automatisointi
• Analogisen / fyysisen tekemisen siirtäminen virtuaaliseksi
• ERP / CRM / PDM / MES / jne. -hankkeet
• Digitaalinen markkinointi ja verkkokauppa
• Nykyisten prosessien tehostaminen
EI tarkoita (pelkästään)
• Uusi liiketoiminta, joka ei olisi mahdollista ilman teknologiaa
• Tuotteen toimittaminen suoritteena
• Globaalin markkinapotentiaalin hyödyntäminen
• Teollisen tuotteen tai palvelun transformaatio joksikin toiseksi
• Sulautetut järjestelmät ja sensorit
• Robotiikan kehittyminen ja verkottuminen
• …

Miksi digitalisaation hyödyntäminen
ON tärkeää juuri nyt?
Yleinen talouden murros pakottaa uudistumaan
ICT-teknologia on riittävän halpaa ja
”kevyttä” sisällytettäväksi teollisesti valmistettaviin
tuotteisiin
Maailmanlaajuinen markkina voitettavana: lähes kaksi biljoonaa
dollaria jaossa
Kuluttajistuminen ja diginatiivit tuovat uusia
työtapoja ja osaamisvaateita
kaikkialle työelämään
Uudet toimijat muuttavat markkinaa väkisin pala
kerrallaan: Google, Amazon, Alibaba, Baidu,
Weibo, Tencent...
Marketvisio ja
Teknologiateollisuus, 2014
Tuottavuutta on parannettava työvoiman
huvetessa ja julkisten palvelujen
rahoittamiseksi
On kysymys valinnasta
Yritykset ja Suomi pitäytyvät vanheneviin toimintatapoihin
• Kilpailukyky heikkenee, investointeja ei tule, työpaikat vähenevät
• Jalostusarvo Suomessa pienenee edelleen
• Verotulot vähenevät
• Muuttotappio ja yhteiskunnallista turhautumista
Yritykset ja Suomi hyödyntävät teollisen internetin mahdollisuudet
• Kilpailukyky paranee ja Suomi on houkutteleva paikka sijoittaa uutta tutkimus- ja liiketoimintaa
• Työllisyys kohenee, jalostusarvo Suomessa kohentuu
• Verotulot kasvavat
• Muuttovoitto ja yhteiskunnallista innostusta

Pelkkää hypeäkö?
• ”Uusi teknologia on tekemässä mahdolliseksi laitteiden laajamittaisen ja
edullisen anturoinnin, mikä puolestaan tekee koneista aivan eri tavalla
kuin aiemmin tietoisia omasta tilastaan. Kun laitteet kytketään
reaaliajassa verkkoon, avautuu kokonaan uusi mahdollisuuksien
maailma teollista tuottavuutta parantavien palveluiden tarjoamiseen.
Tässä on oiva uusiutumishaaste suomalaiselle
koneenrakennusteollisuudelle, ja samalla vahva kilpailuase esimerkiksi
aasialaisia, edelleenkin pääasiassa halpaan hintaan keskittyviä
kilpailijoita vastaan!”
- Pekka Lundmark, Konecranes
• ”Teollinen internet ei ole mahdollisuus, se on pakko”
- Pertti Korhonen, Outotec
• “After Microsoft deal, what’s left of Nokia? Will bet on internet of things”
- Henry Tirri, Nokia

Toimi näin!
Päätä miten teollisen internetin hankkeita johdetaan omassa
yrityksessä.
Käynnistä hankkeita joilla on tuotto-odotuksia sekä
lyhyellä että pitkällä tähtäimellä.
Seuraa ja arvioi kriittisesti mitä muut tekevät –
toimialasta riippumatta.
Muista että kaikkea ei tarvitse tehdä itse.
Teollisen murroksen edessä kaikki oman
verkoston toimijat hakevat omaa paikkaansa.
Huolehdi yrityksesi vetovoimasta
osaajamarkkinoilla –teollisen ICT:n osaajista on
jo nyt pulaa.
Hyväksy että teollinen internet on tullut
jäädäkseen ja että se muuttaa kilpailuasetelmaa
pysyvästi.
”Nyt pitäisi miettiä miten koko toimiala
tekee enemmän rahaa. Kun koko
ketjulla menee hyvin, myös itsellä
menee hyvin.”

Kemppi: Improving Customers’ Business Through
Integration of Data and Analysis
Play video
Welding Equipment manufacturer
Kemppi is in the forefront of utilizing
digitalization in all its business
operations.
With Kemppi ARC System, Kemppi has integrated
the data flow of welding: all data from welding can
be monitored and documented on-line. Through a
cloud-service, e.g. possible welding deviations can
be observed even on the other side of the world.
Kemppi uses data and analytics also in its own
operations. Information is shared seamlessly over
all functions and departments, and dealers and
customers are an inherent part of the Innovation
process.
BENEFITS:
• Improved quality and productivity, automated
data collection, faster lead times, cost savings
• Increased customer satisfaction
• Faster product development
• Potential to eventually change business model
to selling weld seam instead of equipment +
service

Bringing Intelligence Into Remote Filling Stations
Joroinen-based Unicontain develops filling stations and process
systems to demanding environments.
Its filling stations automatically monitor the amount of fuel in the
tanks. They also allow station owners to see sales and set
prices with smart phones.
According to CEO Jari Sistonen, U-Cont both brings more
intelligence into its products and improves its own efficiency
through digitalisation of work- and service processes.
Because installations are mostly far away from services digital
information flow is often the only way to control the installation
and usage process.
BENEFITS:
• Digitally controlled stations and
processes allow environmentally
safe operation in remote locations
• Client has documentation and info
where and when needed

also for several other parties, allowing
Enevo to expand into data integration
business in the future.
Enevo is a startup, with one of the
founders coming from gaming industry.
This gives the company the ability to look
at a traditional industry from a new, data
and analytics based angle.
BENEFITS:
