PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Welcome back to 2017! It was wonderful to see the students on Tuesday, enthusiastic and generally well prepared for the new school year. I am confident that every student will continue to try their best and rise to each challenge this year. The teachers have been working over the holidays preparing their classes and ensuring the coursework is engaging for the students and aligns to the new Victorian Curriculum and new VCE study designs.

2016 ended with Presentation Evening on Monday 12th. It was a wonderful celebration of our students’ achievements in both academic and non-academic areas. It was fantastic to see so many families in attendance and I would like to thank Le-Anne McCraw and Sue Tilley for all their hard work in organising the event. Students will have three electives drawn from a choice of 25 career areas and a fourth interdisciplinary sessions designed to demonstrate how practitioners from various health-related careers work together to meet the needs of the patient. Lunch and a small morning snack are provided. You will need to make your selection using an on-line link by the Wednesday 15th February. Please see Ms Bellingham if you are interested. WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?

Only SOME of the

award winners.

The dance group from DA03 Dance Fever

performed an amazingly energetic dance to the

song ‘Jai Ho’.

Bridget and Aidan, dual recipients of the

Vine/Ramage Loyalty award.

The Jazz Band wowed us with their repertoire.

The 2016 Year 8 girls used the Building Resilience funding to hold an 80s disco for the College. The

Year 8 boys wanted to create a games room. Unfortunately the funding did not stretch to that length, but

they were able to purchase some new games equipment for the Caf for everyone to play on.

Congratulations

Ebony, for winning

the 2017 Alpine

Shire Young Citizen

of the Year award.
