Biography

Terri Shinn resides in Snohomish, Washington. Terri’s work has been featured in numerous books, regional, national, and international shows, and has been included in private and public collections. In 2005, she was named the “Snohomish County Artist of the Year.”

She views experimentation as an essential part of her process, and looks to her sense of humor and outlook on life for inspiration. Terri especially enjoys the discovery process as she plays with various materials, experiments with different textures, and tackles new techniques.

This quest is what has propelled Terri to pursue a ten-year certificate program in Experimental Stitch and Multi-Media from Gail Harker’s Center for Creative Arts. Her artwork continues to morph and evolve in new and unexpected ways. Although textiles have always been a safe harbor, Terri’s recent ventures into mixed media have furthered her passion for exploration. The pieces shown at this exhibition incorporate elements of her past love of quilts along with her new infatuation with experimental stitch, acrylics, print making, and various mediums.
