From the Principal… Congratulations to all students for a year well done! Wednesday will be the final day for

students for 2018.

What a great fete we had yesterday! The students really had a wonderful time with a lot of

new ideas being tried, alongside favourite activities from previous times. The students from

Year 6 put a lot of thought and planning into the stalls. Thank you to the parents who came

along to help out. I noticed many of the younger children going home with a huge

assortment of toys to play with in the holidays from the white elephant stall!

Thank you to all the parents who have helped throughout the year, especially those who

took on bigger or more challenging roles. Thank you especially to the P and C teams. Amie

Frankel organised a lovely get together last night for the final P and C for the year. We really

appreciate the help and support of all parents and members of the community.

Congratulations and thank you to teachers and students from Narrabeen Sports High. This

morning we were visited by Narrabeen Sports High School Summer Arts Tour. What a great

initiative it was. Our students had performances from the concert band, rock band, vocal

ensemble and drama and dance groups. Our students learned to conduct- a skill always

handy at Terrey Hills!

We still have a few activities left for the term.

The string concert is on tonight with a performance by the Northern Beaches String Orchestra.

The 5/ 6 dance will take place with a fiesta theme on Thursday evening

Class Picnic Days are on Tuesday next week

Farewell to Year 6 will be on Wednesday afternoon in the hall.

We certainly can pack it in here at Terrey Hills!

Goodbyes

This year we say goodbye to a number of staff- Mrs Grindley, Ms Hall, Mrs McAskill and Mrs Catherine Walker our

counsellor. Thank you to these teachers who have done a wonderful job caring for our students over the past year. I wish

them well in their future adventures.

Sue Kouros, from our canteen is also leaving. She has helped us to set up the paid canteen position and we are very

grateful for all her efforts and contribution to the running of the canteen this semester.

Painting

Parents will see some maintenance occurring over the break. Beginning next week, C Block- Music and Italian is getting an

outside facelift and the kindergarten blocks are having the entry areas painted. Camp Australia is going to paint the OOSH

and recarpet starting next week.

Text Book orders 2019 Emails will be going out this week with text book order instructions for 2019 textbooks. Text books are ordered and paid for directly from the supplier and delivered to school in the new year. Please watch out for this very important email.

Year 6 Fete Day A wonderfully grateful appreciation to all those Year 6 parents who assisted in making yesterday’s fete so memorable. To those who were brave enough to help at the white elephant stall, face the fiery bbq and resist temptation at the cake stall, thank you.

Lost Property

An adult sized Northern Beaches Christian School jacket was left in the hall last week after Presentation day. If this is yours

we have it in the office.

There are many lunch boxes, drink bottles and jumpers with no names. At the end of term all these items will be disposed

of or sent to the clothing pool.

Library

The Library end of year stocktake is currently underway and all library books need to be returned immediately.

Paddle pops - choc, choc mint & rainbow $1.50

Sorbets - lemon, mango/passionfruit & mango/orange $2.50

There are a small amount of other ice blocks available as well as drinks and chips. Canteen will close at 1.25!

Uniform Shop THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS A huge thank you to Sue Potts who is sadly leaving the school at the end of the year with her youngest finishing primary school. Sue has been an asset to the P&C volunteering around the school and at the Uniform Shop for 10 years. We're going to miss her so much, certainly big shoes to fill. We wish Sue and her family all the best for future ventures. To the Uniform shop Team - Amanda Coleman, Katrina Connors, Thuy Baierl, Sarah Gerdovic, Michelle Wilson, Natasha Power, Kirsten Griffiths and Karen Dent I thank you all so much for your continued support and time you give up each week. CLOSURE FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS The last shop opening for 2018 is Wednesday 12th December. Munch Monitor orders will be finalized Friday 14th December. No more orders can be taken after this date due to stock take. The shop will re-open on Tuesday 29th January from 10.00am - 11.00am. CASHLESS Just a reminder the uniform shop no longer accept CASH or CHEQUES. The Kookaburra Box has been removed from our service. You can use Munch Monitor or pay by eftpos during shop hours.
