Khao Sok National Park and Lake Racha Praba

Part of your Thailand adventure could include a stay in Khao Sok National Park. You’ll be picked up from Surat Thani train station where you would have arrived by overnight sleeper train. (Also possible to start from Phuket)

You’ll travel by minibus to Lake Racha Praba and stay in our unique floating river raft accommodation being surrounded by the still lake.

The rustic huts are a great way to spend the night on your Thailand holiday and are equipped with a mattress and mosquito nets.

Some of the floating raft huts are undergoing a refurbishment at the moment and are being replaced by lovely concrete huts with a bed, mattress, fan and balcony!

There is a new block of toilets and showers are on the shore for your comfort – although you can also take a dip in the lake!

Once you’ve settled into your unique floating home for this Thailand trip, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the waters that surround you.

You will board your bamboo raft and be guided along the water and experience the greenery and caves that surround the lake as well as floating along on a traditional mode of transport in Thailand.

When you return to your accommodation you can take a cooling dip in the lake before dinner.

For the rest of your 3 night Thailand trip jungle stay, your home will be the idyllic jungle lodges located in the heart of the National Park.

The wooden houses are surrounded by the lush green landscape of the jungle which you can look upon from your balcony.

All of the ensuite rooms include a bed and mosquito net as well as a fan to help cool you down.

There is a lovely restaurant at the resort which offers a great mix of Thai and western food.

You can also buy water & snacks from the shop.

There is a river and lake nearby that will be your pool during your stay in this area! It’s a great way to cool down after your busy day trekking.

During your stay in Khao Sok, you can spend your time exploring the lush green surroundings and spot some of the indigenous wildlife! On the third day of your Thailand trip you can explore the jungle with a guide who will take you out for most of the morning. He will explain the variety of flora and fauna to be found amongst the greenery and help you stop the animals hiding in the trees!

What to do next on your Thailand holiday?

For the next step of your Thailand adventure, from Khao Sok National Park, you can head to the islands which are abundant in the South of Thailand.

Gulf of Thailand: Well known for it’s full moon parties, Ko Phangan lies in the centre of the Gulf of Thailand on the East coast. You can hop from island to island also visiting the quiet island of Ko Tao and the more well known Ko Samui.

Andaman sea: This area includes the well known Phuket and Phi Phi island as well as some more secluded gems like Ko Yao Yai and Ko Hai. This is an excellent way to finish up your Thailand trip with some time on the quiet beaches or explore the underwater treasure with a diving course on Ko Raya.
