Thanksgiving Day is the fourth Thursday in November.

It is a national holiday.

Thanksgiving was the first holiday celebrated in America.

It was initially a way of giving thanks to god, and then to the Indians for their help.

The first Thanksgiving was in 1621 when the pilgrims invited the Indians to a three-day feast to celebrate the successful autumn harvest.

The pilgrims were having trouble growing and catching food, so the Wampanoag Indians helped them.

Squanto, a Wampanoag Indian, taught them to grow corn.

The tribe also donated food to them when they ran out of supplies

from England.

The tradition of eating turkey on Thanksgiving was created because there were so many wild turkeys in Plymouth Colony for the pilgrims to hunt.

We all go for a walk.

We watch a movie.

We put up our Christmas tree.
