PURPOSEStudents who complete training in the Academy ofFinance at Northeast High School will have theknowledge and technical skills to help themsucceed in college and in life. The academy offersa planned sequence of specialized electives,academic and technical courses. Students will beinvolved in activities that enhance their education,confidence and prepare them for a successful andrewarding career. program of studyPROGRAMNortheast High School’s Academy of Finance is a veryunique program. It offers a combination of educationalexcellence and work experience to provide acompetitive advantage in securing a job and advancingone’s career goals. Many opportunities to explorecareer options are provided. They include:

VIKING BRANCHAcademy of Finance members enjoy a uniqueopportunity to learn financial skills. Finance academystudents operate the Viking Branch, an official branchof Achieva Credit Union located on school campus.Students work as branch managers, tellers, auditors,member service advisors and marketing staff. TheViking Branch provides opportunities to maintainsaving and checking accounts. A specialized VikingATM card is available to Northeast student members.

SCHOLARSHIP/COLLEGE CREDITStudents who complete the program and meetacademic requirements are eligible for scholarshipsand college credit. The Academy of Finance has anarticulation agreement with St. Petersburg Collegeand Johnson & Wales University.
