All Morphy Richards heatedblankets have beenmanufactured to the highestEuropean standards. Thisproduct has beencomprehensively tested for allknown safety situations, so youcan relax in the knowledge thatit will provide warmth, comfortand peace of mind.

The use of any electricalappliance requires the followingcommon sense safety rules.

Primarily there is danger ofinjury or death and secondly thedanger of damage to theappliance. These are indicatedin the text by the following twoconventions:

Care instructions• Examine frequently for any signs

of wear or damage to theblanket, switch or cord. In caseof damage or misuse, pleasecease using and contact TheAfter Sales Helpline. (See page11).

• During the summer, the blanketcan be used to air the mattress.

• To store fold carefully and placeback into original packaging.

• Do not crease the appliance byplacing items on top of it duringstorage.

• Do not dry clean the blanket,follow washing instructions onthe label attached to the blanketand the details that relate toyour blanket.

Personal safety• WARNING: This appliance is

not attended for use ofpersons (including children)with reduced physical,sensory or mentalcapabilities, or lack ofexperience and knowledge,unless they have beengiven supervision orinstruction concerning useof the application by aperson responsible for theirsafety.

• Do not use with a helplessperson, an infant or a personinsensitive to heat.

• Young children should beinstructed on how to operatethe controls safely and heatsettings should be controlledby a parent or guardian.

Product safety• Ensure the blanket is used in

the manner in which it isintended, either as anoverblanket or underblanket asappropriate.

• If used on an adjustable bed,check the blanket or cordcannot become trapped orrucked.

• Ensure the product is correctlyfitted to the bed, following theinstructions in this booklet.

• Do not insert pins or any sharpobjects into the blanket.

• Do not tuck the heated part ofmaterial under the mattress.

• Do not use if the blanket is wet.

• Avoid pressing creases or foldsinto the blanket. Do not switchon if the blanket is folded,creased or rucked.

• Do not use any lead, switch orcord other than the onesupplied with this blanket.

• Do not coil or lay the lead onthe blanket.

• Not intended for medical use inhospitals.

• WARNING: When storingthe appliance allow it tocool down beforefolding.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

Check that the voltage on therating label of your appliancecorresponds with your houseelectricity supply which must beA.C. (Alternating Current).

If the socket outlets in yourhome are not suitable for theplug supplied with thisappliance, the plug should beremoved and the appropriateone fitted.

Warning: The plug removedfrom the mains lead, ifsevered, must be destroyedas a plug with baredflexible cord is hazardous ifengaged into a live socketoutlet.

Should the fuse in the 13 ampplug require changing, a 3 ampBS1362 fuse must be fitted.

This appliance does not need tobe earthed. It is a doubleinsulated product.

BEFORE USEBefore using this applianceensure that the voltage indicatedon the product correspondswith the mains voltage in yourhome. If you are in any doubtabout your supply, ask yourelectrical dealer or localelectricity company.

WARNING: Do notattempt to use theblanket with controlsother than thosesupplied with the unit asreferred to on the ratinglabel attached to theblanket.

Dual control modelsOn double dual models usersare able to control their ownside of the bed with individualcontrols, tailoring independenttemperatures to independentneeds.

Each side of the blanket has acompletely separate elementand each is supplied with itsown independent mains lead. A13amp plug on each lead isessential.

Do not connect both flexiblecords to one 13amp plug.

The two leads should preferablybe plugged into individualsockets. However, if only onesocket is accessible, then amulti adaptor should be used.

WARNING: If you are unsureabout electricalconnections please contacta qualified engineer.

It is quite normal for the switchto become warm as thecomponents encased are partof the protection circuit.

SAFEGUARD OVERHEAT PROTECTION SYSTEM

ActivationThe system will remain dormantindefinitely as long as theblanket is operating in thenormal temperature range. If forany reason the blanket isoperated in an abnormalsituation or condition whichwould otherwise have induced arapid temperature rise highenough to constitute a hazardthe OVERHEAT SYSTEM shouldintervene by cutting off thesupply current before thetemperature reaches the point atwhich damage may occur.

It is normal for the lead from theblanket to the switch to becomewarm as this is part of theheater protection circuitextended to the switch.

In the event of the OVERHEATSYSTEM operating, the blanketwill cease to function.

WARNING: No attemptshould be made to repairthe blanket or have itrepaired locally and theswitch supplied mustnever be replaced sincethe specialisedcomponents are notgenerally available.

The fact that this blanketincorporates the overheatsystem does not absolve theuser from observing theseinstructions.

Fitting instructions• Use only as an underblanket

and do not use above theoccupant of the bed.

• This product can be used withany type of bedding includingwaterproof bed protectors.

• WARNING: Ensure theblanket is not folded,rucked or creased. Whenin use do not cover withpillows.

Mattress covers with elasticated corner tapes

1 Place the mattress cover directlyon the mattress with the controlswitch end at the head of thebed making sure the connectoris facing upwards.

2 Turn the elastic cornersunderneath the mattress tosecure in place A.

HOW TO USE1 Ensure the blanket is fitted to

the bed correctly. Move theslider switch to the ‘OFF’position.

2 Plug the power lead into theclosest socket, using anextension lead if needed toensure that the lead is notstretched.

Start up1 When plugged in, the red power

LED will illuminate. The switch isalready in time set mode.

2 Select the appropriate hourAM/PM by using the downarrow ‹A or the up arrow ‹B.Press the mode button fl. Theminute symbol will then flash,select the appropriate time.Press mode again and the clockwill be set A.

Heating the bed1 Move the slider switch to the

‘ON’ position the green LED ‡will illiuminate and heat level 1 isautomatically selected.

2 Select the heat required usingthe up and down arrow buttonslevel 1-9 B.

NOTE: Make sure when you getinto bed that the blanket isswitched off, or reduced to levelsuitable for all night use (1-4).

All night use (manual)

NOTE: Blankets are perfectlysafe to be used all night.However we recommend usingthe heat setting below.

1 Select the ‘ON’ position

2 Using the up and down buttons,select your desired heat level (1-4).

• This setting will provide safeand comfortable heat to sleepon all night.

• This setting can be used to airthe bed.

WARNING: Alwaysensure that the heatsetting is moved to theOFF position when youget up the next day, orafter airing the bed.

Boost buttonAt any time during use, if theboost button is pressed fi theswitch will increase by two heatlevels, for 30 minutes C.

Then it will revert back to theprevious heat level.

If within this 30 minutes theboost button is pressed again, itwill revert to the original setting.

This feature can be used anynumber of times during use.

Sleep button1 Move the slider switch to sleep

position. The sleep symbol willbe lit up D.

2 There is no heat output from theblanket until the boost button ispressed.The default level is 4, itcan be altered by using the upand down buttons to yourdesired level. This will maintainfor 30 minutes then switch offE.

If at any time during this periodthe boost is pressed again, theheat will be switched off.

Setting the timer1 Move the slider to timer position.

2 The start and timer symbols willappear plus the hour will flash.Use the up and down buttons toselect the required start timeensuring its on the correct AMor PM. When desired hour isselected press mode button F.

3 Then the minutes will start toflash, select the desired starttime (this setting adjusts in 15minute steps) When selectedpress mode button.

4 Timer and finish will appear. plusthe hour will flash. Use the upbutton to select required finishtime ensuring its on correct AMor PM. When correct hour isselected press mode.Then theminutes will start to flash, selectrequired time. Then press modebutton (this setting adjusts in 15minute steps) G.

5 The heat level will start to flashuse the up and down arrows toselect required heat level. Pressmode button. The pre-heatsymbol will flash. If this isrequired, then press modebutton (if not required then pressdown arrow button before themode button)

NOTE: The pre-heat feature willpre-heat the bed at high level (H)for the first 30 minutes ofprogramed time before revertingto the selected heat level H.

The clock symbol will thenappear indicating that the timerfunction is set.

6 Once the timer function is set.The programme details arestored in memory.

If left in timer mode the blanketwill automatically switch On andOFF at the set time each day.

7 The programmed time is storedeven when switch is moved tothe OFF position.

To use stored programme simplymove slide switch to timerposition.

8 To change the programme moveslide to timer position and pressmode button and repeat steps1-5.

Safety features

Button lock featurePress mode then boost to lockthe buttons. To unlock pressmode then boost. This willprevent accidental operationwhile asleep. When the lock isactivated. The LOCK symbol willappear on the LCD screen I.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:

• Do NOT dry clean -

• Do NOT iron -

WARNING: Beforewashing ensure that youdetach all the controlsfrom the blanket.

1 Measure the blanket so it can bestretched back to its originalsize whilst wet.

2 Only use in a washing machinewith a drum large enough totake the blanket without forcingit in.

NOTE: Please ensure washablemodels are fully dry before use.

Machine washing1 Unplug the blanket from the

power socket.

2 Disconnect the control switchand cord from the blanket bylifting the locking lever over theraised button and pull apart J.

3 Wash on the wool setting at40°C.

4 Gentely stretch the blanket backto its original shape and sizebefore drying without applyingclothes pegs to wired areas ofthe blanket. (See instructions fortumble drying).

Tumble drying1 Unplug the blanket from the

power socket.

2 Disconnect the control switchand cord from the blanket bylifting the locking lever over theraised button and pull apart J.

3 Tumble dry on the LOW heatsetting, following the dryingunder ‘machine washing’section, point 4.

Hand washing 1 Unplug the blanket from the

power socket.

2 Disconnect the control switchand cord from the blanket bylifting the locking lever over theraised button and pull apart.

3 Use a mild washing liquid ordetergent and lukewarm water.

4 Immerse the blanket in the waterand allow to soak for 5-10minutes.

5 Squeeze the soapy waterthrough the fabric.

6 Rinse the blanket thoroughly incool water, gently squeezing thefabric.

WARNING: Do not wringdry.

1 Ensure that the plug and sockethave not become disconnected.

2 Check that the supply plug iscorrectly connected to the flex.

3 Check the supply fuse and the 3amp plug fuse if applicable.

All Morphy Richards productsare individually tested beforeleaving the factory. In the unlikelyevent of any appliance provingto be faulty within 28 days ofpurchase it should be returnedto the place of purchase for it tobe replaced.

If the fault develops after 28days and within 36 months oforiginal purchase, you shouldcontact the Helpline numberquoting Model number andSerial number on the product, orwrite to Morphy Richards at theaddress shown.

You may be asked to return acopy of proof of purchase.

Subject to the exclusions set outbelow (see Exclusions) the faultyappliance will then be replacedand dispatched usually within 28working days of receipt.

If for any reason this item isreplaced during the 3 yearguarantee period, the guaranteeon the new item will becalculated from originalpurchase date. Therefore it isvital to retain your original tillreceipt or invoice to indicate thedate of initial purchase.

To qualify for the 3 yearguarantee the appliance musthave been used according to themanufacturers instructions.

EXCLUSIONSMorphy Richards shall not beliable to replace the goods underthe terms of the guaranteewhere:

1 The fault has been caused or isattributable to accidental use,misuse, negligent use or usedcontrary to the manufacturersrecommendations or where thefault has been caused by powersurges or damage caused intransit.

2 The appliance has been used ona voltage supply other than thatstamped on the products.

3 Where the appliance has beenused for hire purposes or nondomestic use.

4 Morphy Richards are not liableto carry out any type of servicingwork, under the guarantee.

This guarantee does not conferany rights other than thoseexpressly set out above anddoes not cover any claims forconsequential loss or damage.This guarantee is offered as anadditional benefit and does notaffect your statutory rights as aconsumer.
