Keep your business card
handy ( In your left pocket )
Keep your business card
clean – it is your image.
Check your Business card stock, regularly. Before going out of your house, to a meeting, event..etc , check your Business Cards. Keep stock of your Business Cards in your car- for emergencies. At the office, keep stock of business cards on your desk – reachable, in a presentable Business Card desk holder.
Sometimes the landlines changes, or your office is to change location, all of this must be updated in your Business Cards once it happens- having new business cards won’t take 2 days.
Corrections with your hand writing on your business card – don’t serve your image.
Keep your Business Cards in a holder – the more professional , the better.
Card holders in Leather/ Metal with you initials/ name are impressive.
Business cards are made to distribute- you can offer yours; don’t expect all to give you theirs ( if higher ranks) – if in the same level, ask gently : “May I have yours? “
When you arrive for a meeting present your Business Card to the receptionist / secretary.
Once the meeting starts , exchange the Business Cards.
In a meeting with more than one person, arrange the business cards of the persons in the meeting in front of you at the meeting table, better to be in the order they are seated; this way you are able to address the person with the name , based upon the her/his specialty.
Bring as much as you can of business
cards, the phrase ”Excuse me , I am out
of Business Cards” is not accepted- you
must be planning for this.
In networking events- offer first to give
yours .”May I give you my Business
Card?”
In a meeting , or networking event make one pocket for your Business Cards, and another for the ones you receive
After the networking event – make small notes/hints to the Business Cards you have in order to memorize the persons after the event.
Show respect and interest in the person who gave you , her/his Business Card by reading it- if you give a note about what is written it would be a plus.
Keep the cards you got in an easy to use card folder.
