The chiropractic adjustment does not simply correct a patient’s pain; in contrast, it has a profound global neurological effect in the human body. This inspiring session increases

everyone’s certainty in the adjustment, illuminating how powerful the chiropractor is by correcting vertebral subluxations. Dr. Minardi explains the subluxation’s effect on the stress response and how this can alter key areas of the brain which can lead to disease and illness.

Founder and Head Instructor of the Thompson Technique Seminar Series, Dr. Minardi is the author of the Complete Thompson Technique Textbook, both first and second editions. Awarded Chiropractor of the Year in 2011 and 2018, Dr. John is the creator of “Minardi Education”, an innovative educational series which focuses on increasing certainty in the power of chiropractic. For the past 17 years, Dr. Minardi’s primary interest has been to understand the Neurology of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC) and apply this information in a clinical setting for chiroprac-tors and patients. Dr. John brings a unique blend of passion, intensity and excellent teaching skills in order to explain, in a practical manner, the VSC’s segmental and global neurological effects that occur in the body. In addition to his busy lecture schedule, he runs a full time practice in Ontario.

KEYNOTE: How the Chiropractic Adjustment Affects the Brain

Posture rehab should be part of every evidence grounded practice - onsite or with telehealth online -- for back pain, sports performance or wellness. Focusing someone’s attention to

accurately strengthen neuromotor uniquenesses engages them for self-care, and builds a bio-me-chanic, psychologic and behavioral bridge to the importance of chiropractic to move well today, and for all their tomorrows as they age. Join Dr. Steven Weiniger, the posture expert, and find out why blending the PostureZone® motor control exercise (MCE) protocols with common-sense biomechanics helps clinicians globally engage people to stand taller and conquer “Tech neck” and other modern syndromes. DCs, trainers, and therapists say “good posture” and “proper form” is important. But trained observation shows gross and subtle asymmetries and motion errors during rehab and daily life. The problem: Pain changes how we perceive pain as well as how we move, people learn to move their body in patterns gross and subtle, and those patterns train posture that’s functionally weak. Plus, Dr W will introduce his exciting new program,7 Steps to StrongPos-ture®, and share why strengthening posture should be the baseline for any rehab, as well as for general exercise, as well as breathing fully and aging successfully.

Dr. Steven Weiniger helps people stand taller, get out of pain and move better with Strong-Posture®. TV, radio and online media call him the posture expert because of his book, Stand Taller-Live Longer-An Anti-aging Strategy, and leadership of PostureMonth.org global public health

Dr. Yochum will cover injuries of the lower extremities, bio-mechanical evaluation of the lum-bar spine and pelvis, and terminology related to disc herniation. She’ll intersperse various

unknown cases to provide additional insights and increase class dynamics.Session 1. Radiology Research.Session 2. A biomechanical Approach to X-rays.Session 3. What Could Be Walking Through Your Door?Session 4. Introduction to Disc Lesions.

Alicia M. Yochum RN, DC, DACBR received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Point Loma Nazarene University and then worked in the ICU for one year before matriculating to Logan Col-lege of Chiropractic, where she graduated Sum Cum Laude in 2011. She completed her diagnos-tic imaging residency at Logan in 2015 and received her DACBR in October of 2015, becoming the first second-generation DACBR in the history of chiropractic. She has performed editorial review for the Journal of Chiropractic Medicine and serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedics (JACO). Dr. Yochum has published many articles in peer reviewed journals and lectured around the country with her father, Dr. Terry Yochum, as well as in England and Germany. She recently completed her fellowship in musculoskeletal advanced imaging at Logan University with an emphasis on musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound. Dr. Yochum is now practicing with her father in Denver, Colorado.

Now more than ever, chiropractors, like nearly every other segment of the economy, are in the experience business. After all, what is more human than healing touch. What is more

life enriching than the experience of feeling better? Dr. Nathan Unruh describes how the chiro-practic profession is well-positioned to thrive in what’s called the Experience Economy. We oper-ate in a highly competitive health care marketplace, with lowered reimbursements, higher levels of risk, and an aging population. Tighten up your systems, maximize revenue cycle management and then differentiate yourself through experiences. That’s where you will thrive. It’s about experi-ences. Not things. Nathan Unruh is the Chief Experience Officer at SIDECAR, home of the world’s leadingchiropractic business training systems: Overdrive. He is also the Director of Chiropractic at Envive, a successful multi-location chiropractic business, where he and his team serve thousands of patients every month. Dr. Unruh has been inspiring and educating chiropractic business owners for over 15 years. His methods of creating chiropractic affluence have helped hundreds of doctors build thriving practices and balanced lives. He is the author of three books: Digit, Strike It! and Chrome, and is a sought-after public speaker. He was mentored by and worked closely with Dr.Frank Sovinsky, coach, consultant, speaker and co-author of The E-Myth Chiropractor: Why Most Chiropractic Practices Don’t Work and What to do About It. Dr. Sovinsky was committed to trans-forming the way chiropractors grow their practices in this new and challenging health care market. His passion for chiropractic, genius for understanding human behavior and his business acumen are the foundation for Sidecars’ patient-centered practice model.

Medicare Training “Per Your Requests”

Becky Walter, MCS-PFor DCs (Type 1 CE) & CAsSponsor: Infinedi

This training has been derived directly from the results of the recent UVCA Medicare Training survey. It will cover the following vital concepts.

Session 1: Medicare Documentation – Documenting the Initial Visit of an Episode Acute. Set the stage for your Medicare Patient’s coverage with the initial visit documentation. Learn how to fulfill Medicare’s documentation requirements to start a covered episode and plan for the length of care the patient needs. Discover the key diagnoses to accompany your subluxations to demonstrate how much care is expected. Fully understand functional deficits and how to include those in your initial visit creating short-term and long-term goals. Learn how to utilize FOA tools and to describe treatment plans that demonstrate how to verify effectiveness.Session 2: Medicare Chronic and Subsequent Visit Documentation and ABN Usage. Explore additions to the Initial Visit documentation in History, Assessment and Plan that reflect chronic 1-2 visit care (“the 1-visit wonder”). Learn how to document the Subsequent visit as part of a treatment plan using statements in History. Understand why you need to include subluxation levels in docu-mentation. Show treatment effectiveness in functional improvement and planned re-evaluations. Use the ABN to demonstrate maintenance level has been achieved.Session 3: Medicare Billing, EOMB responses and Documentation Requests. Understand how to tell Medicare you have a new episode.
