History
The CR Almeida Group, founded in 1958, has a net worth estimated at US$ 9.4 billion with 30 companies
operating in the heavy constructions, intermodal logistics assets, highway concessions, explosives,
chemical products and defence systems.
The defence branch started, in 1961, with the acquisition of the explosives factory, Britanite, followed by
the incorporation of the Brazilian plants of North American DuPont (1986) and IRECO Inc. (1993), the
largest explosive manufacturer at that time.
Within the following years, Britanite relocated and enlarged its facilities, holding, within a plot of 2,200,000
m2, in Quatro Barras, near Curitiba, capital of Parana State, its administration and the departments of
engineering, development, manufacturing, explosive storage and loading.
The Company holds a portfolio of recognised trusted brands and is the
leading supplier of explosives, detonation accessories and solutions for rock
blasting, in South America. In 2008, Britanite entered the production of
ammonium, sodium and potassium perchlorates.
Today, the defence branch of CR Almeida Group, named AEQ–Aerospace,
Chemical & Defence, develops state-of-the-art defence systems, to the
Land, Navy and Air Forces of the Brazilian and friendly nations, and is
the supplier of explosive weapons and MIL standard propellants to the
Aerospace and Defence Industries in Latin and North America, Asia, Africa
and Europe.

Respect towards the environment and the care with the safety of all its employees, clients and the community is priority for IBQ.
Quality excellence of IBQ products and services is also assured by its strict Quality Management System, based on the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard and RBQA 2110.
IBQ’s Quality Control is present since the analysis of the raw materials used during manufacturing.
By relying on modern laboratories, the production undergoes tests, inspections and tests that assure the client the high technical level of everything that is supplied.

Recent conflicts highlight a significant concern about the efficiency of accurate
bombing combined with extended launching ranges.
In response to this demand, AEQ offers the SMKB Smart Guided Weapon System, for air-to-ground warfare,
operating under encrypted wireless data transfer, all-weather conditions and accurate guidance, at a range of up
to 24 km, for lower exposure to enemy fire.
The SMKB weapon employs inertial guidance system (INS) aided by Global Positioning System (GPS) and inter-
operating with the Galileo and GLONASS global navigation systems guiding modular bombs, as the 500 pounds
MK-82 and 1,000 pounds MK-83, also produced by AEQ.
SMKB-82 - Guided Smart Bomb Wireless System
Its guidance system does not suffer the interference of dust, sandstorm, dirt,
smoke, fog, rain, snow or cloud, making it ideal for a variety of environments and applications, including: close
air support, interdiction, offensive counter air, suppression of enemy air defence, naval anti-surface warfare and
mobile or fixed targets.
Wireless CommunicationThe SMKB weapon receives its mission data and can
change its operating modes, download and upload
its firmware and execute built-in tests, via wireless
communication.
Advantages of the SMKB system:• No electrical connection, subsequently easier operation in any airplane;
• Significant reduction in integration costs;
• GPS position and impact angle programmed on ground or during the
captive flight.
• BIT and “in range” information available during the captive flight;
• Wide range of launching points.
• Weapon developed for worldwide aircrafts, including non-modernized
ones and without loss of aircraft performance;
• Real time envelope calculation sending to pilot;
• High performance thermal batteries for the power supply.

The MK/AEQ Low Drag General Purpose (LDGP) bombs
are cylindrical in shape, equipped with stabilizers and
fitted for both nose and tail fuzes to ensure reliability
and blast, cratering or fragmentation effects.
These weapons are effective against armoured,
fixed and mobile targets, including:
• artillery, trucks, bunkers, rockets and
missiles launching sites, radars and
supply points.

The PF/AEQ Fragmentation Bombs are cylindrical in shape, equipped with low
drag stabilizers and fitted for both nose and tail fuzes for achieving high reliability.
Their manufacturing process comprises performance parameters checking and a
large number of steel balls for maximum blast and fragmentation effect against
soft targets.
Their employment does not cause material destruction, preserving existing
facilities, buildings and forest.
The PF-82/AEQ fragmentation munitions are equipped with two mechanical
fuzes, the nose M 904/AEQ and tail M 905/AEQ fuzes.

The BEX-11 and BDU-33 bombs are dedicated to bombing practice.
Deployed from aircraft weapons bay or underneath aircraft’s wing, they simulate the
trajectory of the low drag General Purpose Bombs, and have a pyrotechnic cartridge
that shows the ground impact point.
The BDU-33 has a pyrotechnic cartridge to indicate
the ground impact point with a red flash and white
smoke (MK-4 MOD 3/AEQ) or an intense white
smoke cloud (CXU 3 A-B/AEQ).
