The department offers the following academic programmes:

• Batchelor of Technology(4 year course): Admission made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted jointly by the IITs• Integrated Dual Degree(5 year B.Tech + M.Tech in Power Electronics): Admission made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted jointly by the IITs• Master of Technology(2 year course): Admission made on the basis of GATE score• PhD Programme: GATE/ NET scores/ Sponsership by the employer followed by interviews

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Banaras Hindu University was established in year 1919, and can take pride in itself as one of the oldest institutions in the country dedicated to the task Of advance training of engineers in the field of electrical sciences.
