Preserving Tradition, Preserving Life, Preserving HumanityTraditional cultures around the globe are under threat of extinction. These traditional cultures are the heritage and the treasure of humanity. Everything that modern society has today owes its exis-tence to traditional culture and traditional knowledge.

Modern culture continues to spread to every corner of the world. Two Thousand Five Hundred years of colonialism, cultural Imperialism, and corporate greed have created an environemnt where modern ideologies are forced upon traditional people of the world by any means necessary.

Cultrual Imperialism: “...the sum of the processes by which a society is brought into the modern world system and how its dominating stratum is attracted, pressured, forced, and sometimes bribed into shap-ing social institutions to correspond to, or even promote, the values and structures of the dominating centre of the system...”, Herbert Schiller

A consequence of the spread of cultural imperialism is the perpetration of modern ideologies upon the minds of Traditional Peoples. With the spread of these ideologies comes the loss of traditional knowledge that has been preserving life and humanity for hundreds of thousands of years.

The Earth Center of Maanu, Inc. is an advocate for the preservation of traditional wisdom.

Humanity has been fighting for freedom from oppression for thousands of years. Slavery, war, geno-cide and self-distruction are matters of historical fact. The solutions modern societies have found for this oppression have simply been ineffective at solving the problems of humanity. The human species is now at a critical juncture.

We think that the knowledge held within traditional culture holds key solutions to the problems humanity faces today; problems like climate change, imperialism, poverty and the useless distruc-tion of all forms of life.

If traditional culture has a history that is over two hundred thousand years old. One thing that can be said of it is that it knows how to survive. A key mission of The Earth Center of Maanu, Inc. is to ensure that critical knowledge in traditional culture related to human survival is preserved and ap-propriately disseminated for the benifit of humanity.

Master naba LaMoussa MoroDenibig

Our HistoryThe Earth Center of Maanu, Inc. is a 501(c)3 religious and educational organization that was founded by the students of the Dogon High Priest, Master Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig.

Master Naba founded the international organization called The Earth Center in the City of Chicago on the continent of Maanu (the traditional name for the west-ern hemisphere), in the Sidereal year 308 (Gergorian year 1998).

Master Naba is a High Priest who was raised in the traditional teaching of the Priesthood of the Niger Valley Civilization. The NIger Valley Civilization was founded by the decendents of the Nile Valley Civiliza-tion when the Pharoahs determined that it was time to flee from the attacks that were becomming a major distraction to the progress of humanity.

The Niger Valley Civilization hid itself from the world for more than two thousand five hundred years, first by virtue of geographical isolation due to the great northern desert of Meritah (the traditional name for the continent of Africa) and later by maintaining strict secrecy in the initiation camps deep in the bush.

In year 307, Master Naba arrived in Maanu having

secured the permission of his King and his elder priests to revive the Great Mystery Schools that were once the educational treasure of the Nile Valley Civilization. He arrived in Chicago in 308 and founded The Earth Center in the Rogers Park Neigborhood on the far North side of Chicago, whjere he began instructing students in the M’TAM initiatic knowledge.

During his time in Chicago, Master Naba wrote numerous articles, more than six manuscripts and instructed many students in the M’TAM initiation system. Master Naba is also a master healer and solved many problems of people here in Maanu. In year 407, after spending more than ten years in Maanu, Master Naba took the decision to return home. It was at this time that his eldest students requested his permission to protect his work here in Maanu by forming a corporate entity to manage his legacy within the colonial world. With his permission, The Earth Cen-ter of Maanu, Inc. was formed.

In year 408, Master Naba began his journey to the World of the Dead, leaving the management of his intellectual property to The Erarth Center of Maanu, Inc. with the understanding that the non-profit would continue his legacy and support the work of The Earth Center international organization. Master Naba remains the ultimate authority over The Earth Center of Maanu, Inc. through the guidence of the elder students who founded it and their dedica-tion to the philosophical and spiritual values of The Earth Center.

Corporate Structure

The Earth Center of Maanu, Inc. is composed of three divisions, M’TAM Education, Firefly Productions and Ankhkasta Natural Healing. Each of these divisions provides a specific are of support to the activities of The Earth Center International Organization.

Due to the fact that The Earth Center is a Spiritual and Philosophical organization, the colonial world perceives it as a religious institution. The M’TAM initiation teaches that religion is a relatively recent phenomenon in human experience and does not consider itself as such, however, The Earth Center of Maanu, Inc. chose to represent itself in this way because the colonial authorities in the US most closely identify the work, concepts and activities of The Earth Center with what they call religion. Such concept and activities include the validation of the divine world in the form of Gods and Goddesses, regular spiritual services open to the public (ZemZem), and a strict code of conduct and spiritual values (the Divine Code of Human Behavior).

M’TAM

The M’TAM education division provides accounting and management support to the M’tAM education system. M’TAM is passed down from instructor to student in an intense initiation process. The most favorable method of initiation is for students to dedicate a portion of their lives to the initiation and give them selves to the temple or school, serving all of the schools needs and living on the grounds. The colonial world that we live in makes this kind of lifestyle impossible for most M’TAM students and so Master Naba approved the payment of tuition as a means of allowing students to continue in their colonial lives and transition slowly into the traditional world.

The Earth Center of Maanu, Inc. handles the accounting, collection and management of these funds for all schools. It ensures that each school has the financial means to maintain its infrastructure and physical plant. It also provides stipends to overseers who have dedicated their lives to The Earth Center at each location as needed.

Firefly Productions

The Rising Firefly Philosophical Journal was founded by Master Naba and his eldest students to disseminate the M’TAM teaching throughout the world in the form of a print publication. Firefly Productions was formed to pub-lish this magazine as well as the Sunnyside Newspaper, a free publication, and produce all forms of media such as

lectures on CD and DVD. Firefly Productions also holds the intelectual property rights to all of Master Naba’s manuscripts. Two manuscripts have already been published, Initiatic Tales of Hedge-Ptah, and Philosophy Po-dium: A Dogon Perspective, which is in its second edition.

Ankhkasta Natural Healing

As a master healer, Master Naba developed an association with many healers and traditional priests in Meritah. We estimate that in the sub-saharan region of West Africa alone, there is a network of more than ten thousand active healers and priests. Ankhkasta Natural Healing works within this network to provide spiritual and heal-ing services to the world.

Ankhkasta makes traditional remedies and herbs availalble to the general public. They provide spiritual and physical services to assist the public in finding solutions to health problems using traditional techniques and methodologies. Ankhkasta also supports the Healing Pilgrimage to Meritah, where those with problems that might be considered intractible in the modern world can lean how to address them in the traditional way.

Charitable Activities

The Earth Center supports a variety of charitable activities related to our mission of preserving traditional cul-ture. We support the building of wells in rural communities as well as the preservation of traditional agricul-tural practices and the preservation of legacy seeds and domesticated and wilde plant life.

The Earth Center recently purchased a 100 Hectare plot of land in Togo. The latest growing season has yeilded several crops that will be used to aleviate hunger in more arrid regions during the dry season.

Cultural Preservation

During the 2010-2011 pilgrimage, the Earth Center continued its mission of supporting every aspect of traditional culture including traditional kingships, traditional priests and healers and traditional cultural activities. The Earth Center built and maintains a traditional compound on the lands given to the bloodline of our founder, the traditional village of Tembega in the Gourma region of Burkina Faso. Students use this as their home base while working with traditional people in the rural areas to learn the original way of life and human civilization. We interact with the leaders of the village according to the requirements of the culture.

One major goal of The Earth Center is to put our effort and energy towards preserving the ways of life of our ancestors through the support and promotion of cultural traditions including traditional medicine, traditional sustainable farming practices, and traditional spiritual life. It is to these traditions that have been so carefully preserved by the Dogon people that we owe our education and the reclamation of our culture. Our goal is to help traditional communities defend themselves and protect their ways of living in harmony with nature as they have done for many thousands of years. We strive to support communities where future generations will be able to learn and speak their own languages, farm their own traditional lands, heal themselves and their families with their own medicine, and pass down to their children the many thousands of years of collective wisdom that has been brought forth by their culture.
