4We very much understand our work being a partnership between our Parent DG, DG Enterprise and Industry, the network and the Agency. Each has a specific role to play, but together we are a team that shares the same objective: Helping Europes SMEs to grow and innovate. The Network in numbers550 organisations (regional chambers of commerce and industry, technology and innovation agencies, sector associations and economic development agencies such as Malta Enterprise)50+ countries: EU27, European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland), Candidate Countries (Turkey, FYROM), Switzerland, Balkans, plus Third Countries (Russia, Armenia, Israel, the US) 3,600 experienced technical staff

6The EACI is responsible for contract and project management, monitoring and evaluation of the EEN The Agency will also be responsible for: Network governance (i.e. organising SAG, working groups, sector groups); Training (i.e. induction training course to be organised in June);Communication, information and promotion (i.e. graphical charter, intranet & internet and promotional material); Quality control and reporting (i.e. client satisfaction surveys and economic impact of the Network); Services to the Network (i.e. business cooperation, internationalisation, innovation and technology transfer); Advanced online and e-services to the Network (IT tools and databases).

Technology profiles are regularly disseminated through the use of our Automated Matching Tool, the monthly newsletter (over 800 subscribers) and to targeted companies. Access to EU ProgrammesThe FP7 Exploratory Award Scheme covers 60% of the total eligible costs of the preparatory proposal up to a maximum of 10,000 and covers costs related to personnel, technical advisors and travel.

The Business Advisory Scheme aims to provide tailored business advice on EU projects through advisors selected by Malta Enterprise [10 hours of an advisors intervention on a specific project/task is financed by Malta Enterprise].
