4. Free Studentship Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste students who are pursuing higherstudies in different courses from class XI to Post Graduation. Students; who failed in the previousyear and also those; students whose Annual income of Parents exceeds the amount mentioned atSI.No.1 and 2 above are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

5. Book Grant Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste students who are pursuing higherstudies in different courses from class XI to Post Graduation and who secured marks 60% above areeligible to apply for the Book Grant Scholarship.

6. Post Graduate Research Scholarship for the students of Meghalaya (SC/CT and General) who aredoing research courses under University or Research Institutions for M.Phil or PhD and who securedmarks 50% above are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.

Students studying within the State are to collect the forms (Fresh and Renewal) from the institutionswhere they are studying. Students studying outside the State may collect the forms from the Office of theundersigned Room No.206 (B) from 12th May, 2011 onward.

2. Candidates applying for MBBS Course should be otherwise eligible under the Regulations on GraduateMedical Education 1997 as amended. They should complete the age of 17 years on or before the 31st Decemberof the year on which they proceed for MBBS Course.

3. Selection of candidates, who are otherwise medically fit and eligible, will be made purely on the basisof merit, determined by the aggregate percentage of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at thequalifying examination, and subject to reservation policy of the State Government applicable in this regard.Where the aggregate marks secured by any two or more candidates in PCB, are identical their order to merit willbe considered by taking into account marks secured in English at the qualifying examination. In the event of theirorder of merit remaining tied even after taking into account marks secured in English, the order of merit of suchcandidates will be determined by the age of the applicants whoever is older.

4. Candidates applying for more than one category of seats for Medical/Engineering/B.Sc(Agri)/B.V.Scetc. studies against State Quotas will have to indicate clearly the order of preference in their ‘OPTIONS’. TheOptions exercised as per indication made in the application form will be FINAL and IRREVOCABLE and cannotbe modified at any stage.

Candidates who have been sponsored and who have accordingly secured admission against StateGovernment Quota seats in any other category of study or course in the previous academic year/ years or thepresent academic year will not be eligible for admission in MBBS or other allied courses available in the Department.

5. Name(s) of waiting list candidates who accept nomination for any category of higher studies againstState Quota of seats in any other Discipline/Departments in pursuance of their 2nd or subsequent order ofOption will be removed/not considered eligible for MB.BS or other allied courses sponsored by the Department.Names once removed will not be restored to the waiting list under any circumstances.

It will also bepublished in the local dailies published from Shillong and Tura. All applicants are required to ascertain thenominations from the above sources. NO INDIVIDUAL INTIMATION WILL BE SERVED ON ANY APPLICANTSELECTED FOR NOMINATION.

11. Applicants whose names are included in the list selected for the nomination and published as aboveare required to report to the Officer-on-Special Duty to the Government of Meghalaya, Health and Family WelfareDepartment Room No.504, Additional Secretariat Building within the date and time to be indicated while publishingthe list of selected candidates and to personally submit their letter of acceptance, execute Surety Bond for thevalue of Rs.10,00,000/-(Rupees Ten lakhs) only (in case of MBBS course) and to collect their letter of nominationsor further instructions, as the case may be.
