introduction:The godfather is an oscar rewarded gangster movie directed by francis ford coppola and was released in 1972. The movie got awarded for being one of best movie ever made. And the movies budget was about 6.5 million dollars.
The main actors are Marlon Brando and Al Pacino as the leaders of the Corleone crime family. The story spans the years from 1945 to 1955, concentrating on the transformation of Michael Corleone from the reluctant family outsider into a ruthless Mafia boss.
The plotVito Corleone is our aging don AKA Gangster lord In the first movie. His youngest son Michael played by Mr Al Pachino has just returned from world war two. Just in time to see the wedding of Connie Corleone Michael's sister to Carlo Rizzi , a really fugly guy if you ask me. All of Michael's family is involved with Mafia, but Michael just wants to live a normal life or so he says ;)
continuing plotA Drug dealer called Virgil Sollozzo is looking for Mafia families to offer him protection in exchange for a big amount of money , and I may add that those money aren’t earned legally ha-ha. He approaches Don Corleone about it, but against the advice of the Don's lawyer Tom Hagen, the Don is morally against the use of drugs, and turns down the offer. This does not please Sollozzo, who has the Don shot down by some of his hit men.
The Don barely survives, which leads his son Michael to begin a violent mob war against Sollozzo and tears the Corleone family apart...
Fun factsIt was Al Pacino who told the director to use Marlon brando as Don corleone.
Marlon brando got awarded for being the best male actor but declined as
a protest against how the american states treated indians.
