So maybe you bought all those neat exercise machines and workout clothes and you really intend to do better, but how long does it last? By the end of March you’ll probably see them for sale in your garage sale. With all the turmoil in the world and our own lives, why don’t we do something different like being kinder and more civil with each other, being more tolerant with others, and doing what you can to help those less fortunate than you. Remember the saying that was popular a few years ago “What would Jesus do?” Thank you Brother Henry Hull and all the volunteers that worked on the Christmas Food Baskets that helped at least a hundred needy families with good nourishing food. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I hope the New Year brings you good health and prosperity. Thanks for supporting our Council with your time and talents, and let’s strive to do even better in the New Year. Faithful Navigator FN William Villegas My brother knights, October through December 2019 were a rough few months with the passing away of Sir Knight Gene Leal, Mrs. Marie Holm and Sir Knight Tony Perez Jr. We will be praying for the repose of their souls. With this, the past deaths of Sir Knight Gene, Lady Knight Marie, and Sir Knight Tony has taught me Casualty Assistance Orientation is necessary for our living Sir Knights and their spouses. This way, important details are passed on to the loved ones left to complete the funeral arrangements. That is, the inclusion of the Knights of Columbus is not assumed. On January 4th at 10 am CST at Columbus Club Hall, I am hosting a Casualty Assistance Orientation briefing on the rules, procedures, and protocol in event of the passing away of Sir Knight or his wife. After the orientation, we will have sword handling procedures and discuss procedures for the Color Corps at a funeral visitation, rosary service, funeral mass service and burial internment. Bring your sword, scabbard, and 4th degree baldric, which your scabbard is mounted during the position of “Carry Swords”. Please let me know if you and your wife will attend the orientation…RSVP at (702) 279-9311. Additionally, I’d like to thank the Scouts for the professional and patriotic ceremony to retire the U.S. Flags that were no longer serviceable. It was a beautiful ceremony and it reminded me why I am still serving on active duty as United States Air Force officer after 32 years. I’d like to personally thank the American Heritage Girls program director, Ms. Toni Miller, for inviting the Knights of Columbus to participate in the Wreaths Across America ceremony at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery on December 14th. Grand Knight’s Message GK Tony Friesenhahn So we’re starting a New Year, fresh with resolutions like losing weight, stop smoking or drinking, maybe more exercise. So maybe you bought all those neat exercise machines and workout clothes and you really intend to do better, but how long does it last? Remember the saying that was popular a few years ago “What would Jesus do?”

Thank you Brother Henry Hull and all the volunteers that worked on the Christmas Food Baskets that helped at least a hundred needy families with good nourishing food.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I hope the New Year brings you good health and prosperity. Thanks for supporting our Council with your time and talents, and let’s strive to do even better in the New Year.

Faithful Navigator (continued) alongside the Wreaths Across America volunteers at the Fort Sam Houston Cemetery to place 52,000 wreaths at each veteran’s eternal resting place. Well done to all the volunteers that participated in the Wreaths Across America program.

Yes indeed, the 3rd degree councils and 4th degree assembly brother knights have been busy with charitable works. To include our very own Sir Knight (Major General, United States Army, Retired) Patrick H. Brady who is providing time and talent supporting the local veterans transition program, which was highlighted in a local newspaper article. Kudos to all the knights on supporting charitable organization within the Comal County and San Antonio areas. Let’s continue on this positive path and close out the fraternal year (i.e., June 30th) with charity and fellowship in our hearts. Many blessings to you and your family for 2020.

Finally, I’d like to recognize our Assembly Color Corps Commander, Sir Knight Clemente Leal as “Sir Knight of the Month”. Brother Clemente has been instrumental in the implementation of the assembly’s service programs. Well done, brother. Vivat Jesus!
