Dear Colleague, On our last day at the 2013 Conference in Berlin we asked the LDC community to nominate thenext destination and the answer was: Buenos Aires! We are thrilled to invite you to one of the mostfascinating cities in South America to learn, connect and celebrate together, April 23-26th, 2014.

Replete with cultural richness, Buenos Aires combines a spirited atmosphere with many sophisticatedtraditions. !is city is vibrant with contemporary arts and beautiful with belle époque architecture.Its unusual appeal emanates from its people (“Porteños”) and their warmth and enthusiasm. We know the charms of this inspirational culture will transport you with the finery of architecture, craftsmanship, food, wine and entertainment.

Buenos Aires and environs are vast, and we have just returned from an exciting scouting trip to define the many opportunities for our Conferenceparticipants. While our program will begin officially on Wednesday April 23 at 6pm, we encourage you to come early for more in-depthsightseeing or shopping, and will send recommendations under separate cover. We will offer early visitors an optional program from 10am until5pm on Wednesday April 23: an exclusive day at the Polo One grounds. On our first night our community will unite over traditional Argentinianfare in a historic setting with a keynote speaker. We are forming our speaker roster now for the education programs on !ursday and Fridaydesigned to expand your practice and connect our community. Spectacular dinners (in unexpected settings) are in the works, where we willenjoy Argentinian cuisine and each other’s company and meet the indigenous esteemed design community. Our agenda will enable time toexplore the city’s attractions either on your own or in the company of expert guides. And on our last day, we will enjoy the stunning setting ofan estancia with gaucho traditions.

!e conference will be limited to 150 members, and we will stay at the recently renovated Four Seasons in the Recoleta district.

ITINERARY

Saturday, April 26th: DAY OF RECOVERY (…and departure)

• Morning: Depart for Estancia Villa Maria. Day at leisure on ground of beautiful

estate, with outdoor sports, gaucho entertainment and farewell buffet lunch

• Buses will leave from the Villa Maria for EZE Airport according to flight departure times

Wednesday, April 23: DAY OF ARRIVAL

• 10am – 5pm: Day at “Polo One” in the Pampas to learn about the game of polo, meet the

players, enjoy traditional barbecue and watch a private match.

• Pre-conference program: Fee will apply. One guest per Member is welcome.

• 6pm: Conference begins! Depart !e Four Seasons for an evening, including a keynote address

and welcome dinner in a historical palace

!ursday, April 24: DAY IN BUENOS AIRES

• Morning: Education seminars at Faena Arts Center (speakers in formation)

• Lunch: El Mercado

• Afternoon: Education seminars resume (speakers in formation)

• Late afternoon: On your own time for personal touring

• Evening: Dinner parties hosted by interior designers and architects in their private homes

and clubs in Buenos Aires and San Isidro

Friday, April 25th: DAY IN THE TIGRE DELTA REGION

• Morning: Depart for the Tigre Delta for Education Sessions (speakers in formation)

• Lunch: Traditional barbeque

• Late afternoon: On your own, on the delta or in the city

• Gala farewell dinner in a surprise location with special entertainment

!e costs of content, meals and inter-transportation of this conference are

LDC members shall pay a $500 non-refundable registration fee towards the

administration of the conference.

Co-Founders Keith Granet and Meg Touborg believe that fresh ideas and

personal relationships are essential for success as a design entrepreneur.

For this reason, they formed the Leaders of Design Council as a

membership organization for leading design practitioners and executives.

In this collective, designers of high talent and energy are brought together

with their peers in architecture, in interior design, in landscape design and
