Ship Flags
The international Maritime Signal Flags are part of the International Code of Signals. Once used extensively, they now serve as a backup to electronic communications between ships. They can be combined to spell words or used individually to denote a particular situation or condition. Only five (5) colors are used: red, yellow, black, dark blue, and white, as these are best to stand out against the sky.
