*** UPDATE — Mass on Sunday 30th August ***
Owing to a number of safety issues that have arisen in planning for the outdoor Mass and picnic, the difficult decision has been taken not to proceed with this outdoor event. Instead there will be the usual Masses at 9 am, 11 am and 6 pm and additional seating will be made available in the courtyard, so that we can safely accommodate up to fifty more people at each Mass. The link to the online booking system is on the next page of the newsletter. If you would like to contribute to a going away collection for Fr Chris, please donate online, or put donations in the specially marked baskets which will be located at each exit from the Church on the day.

THOUGHT FOR TWO WEEKS The English writer and philosopher G.K. Chesterton once said, “If there were no God, there would be no atheists.” We live in a world in which it’s all too easy to feel embarrassed or hesitant to speak up about our faith. As followers of Jesus, we are called never to feel intimidated to announce the message of Jesus, because God knows how much it is needed today. If we, each in our own way, pronounce peace, or joy, or love, or justice, then the world will be a more loving, joyful, peace-filled and just place. That is the simplicity and the power of proclaiming Jesus today.

ATTENDING PUBLIC MASS AT ST. BEDE’S CHURCH When attending church for Mass or for prayer, we need to keep each other safe and observe the following guidelines:
When attending Mass please WEAR YOUR OWN FACEMASK or face covering at all times except when receiving Holy Communion
Apply hand sanitizer when entering the church
Dispensation from the Sunday obligation remains and we actively encourage you to attend Mass any day of the week where possible
The number of parishioners able to attend each Mass will be limited to a maximum of 80
