Celebrating over a Century of Faith and Education

St. Barbara Parish is a Roman Catholic community celebrating a century of faith in the Bridgeport area. Our faith community welcomes all people, helping them grow spiritually through liturgy, prayer, and education, and socially through activities for all ages. Our school takes great pride in fostering these values in our children. We give witness to our faith by sharing with each other our God-given gifts and talents. We nourish and sustain our faith as a family by celebrating the sacraments and the presence of the risen Lord among us in the Eucharist.

JUST A REMINDER!

The rectory is closed on Thursdays during the month of August.

THANK YOU!!!

A gigantic THANK YOU from Mrs. Nolazco and the entire elementary school to Mr. Mike Pennell, who do-

nated the $800 to cover the cost of our two new air conditioners.

My Brothers and Sisters, Each person in the whole world needs acceptance and love. This is a fundamental psychological need. However, when people seek love and acceptance, they are wounded by other people. How often people wound each other! Faith tells us that there is only one acceptance—the acceptance of Christ, who always loves us. Saint John Paul II said that when we receive Holy Communion, Jesus receives us more than we re-ceive Him. He receives us as we are. This means that Jesus accepts us and loves us. My Brothers and Sisters, it is very important to be-lieve that Jesus waits for us in the Eucharist. It is very important that our faith in His love increas-es. During these summer months, Jesus waits for us in our Church. Please join us on Sunday and re-ceive Jesus in the Eucharist because HE LOVES US SO MUCH. Dear parents and children, please remember that there is NO vacation from Church. Fr. Arthur
