Specialized staff activities are added thatsupport line activities.

Functional Structure

The term organizational structure refers to how the people in an organization are grouped and to whom they report. One traditional way of organizing people is by function. Some common functions within an organization include production, marketing, human resources and accounting.

Product Structure

A representation of the way in which the parts of a product fit together and interact, organized in levels of detail based on structure. A product structure is used to manage changes, testing, and problem resolution for complex products with a large number of interdependent parts and functions.

Committee Structure

Individual or a group, appointed by an agency, authority, or larger assembly, to whom a matter is referred, or is committed for attention, investigation, analysis, or resolution. A committee has no power per se, except the power(s) assigned to it by its appointer

Matrix Structure

An organizational structure that facilitates the horizontal flow of skills and information. It is used mainly in the management of large projects or product development processes, drawing employees from different functional disciplines for assignment to a team without removing them from their respective positions.
