MIG was founded in 2000 to provide a reporting venue for witnesses of

unusual events. Many unusual events occur in Missouri each year, which

are not reported and subsequently are not investigated. A goal of MIG is to

have representatives in each of the 115 Missouri counties. This would create

a reporting network of spotters who will be aware of what is happening in

their areas and report current activity to the group. Director Barbara Becker.

If you are interested in participating in this effort, please email

Alien Abduction

The terms or abduction phenomenon describes "memories of being

taken against one’s will by apparently nonhuman entities, and

subjected to complex physical and psychological procedures."

People claiming to have been abducted are usually called

"abductees" or "experiencers." Typical claims involve being

subjected to a forced medical examination that emphasizes their

reproductive system.

Abductees sometimes claim to have been warned against

environmental abuse and the dangers of nuclear weapons.

Consequently, while many of these purported encounters are

described as terrifying, some have been viewed as pleasurable or

transformative.

NEWS FROM THE INSTITUTE OF FRONTIER SCIENCE

The Institute Of Frontier Science gives a great opportunity for those who are

writing or making reports in the field of Ufology, as well as seasoned

researchers.

Its founder and leader is Steven S. Bass, who in addition to being the

Founder and Director of the Institute is also well known and respected by

everyone involved in the Ufology community.

"The Institute of Frontier Science is an elite fellowship of highly

experienced and knowledgeable specialists in the scientific field of

Ufology."

The Institute of Frontier Science offers people the chance to embark on the

truths that lie within the UFO genre. IFS will also educate the uneducated on

a subject that has been kept behind closed doors for much too long. The

institute will take time to build, but already has the “Big Guns” in place. IFS

is for the truth and nothing but. People are encouraged to join this great

undertaking, for what I am sure will be a rewarding and educational venture

into the science of Ufology.

PENNSYLVANIA PARANORMAL

WHAT DO YOU CALL THE STUDY OF THE

PARANORMAL?

The study of paranormal activity is actually called several things.

People who are interested in hauntings, apparitions and poltergeists

usually in specific locations, are called "ghost hunters" or "ghost

investigators". Many of these work in groups or teams generally of

a more casual nature.

People who are more focused on producing information from their

work may be called "paranormal investigators" or "paranormal

researchers". These labels are arbitrary; it is possible "ghost

hunters" may call themselves "paranormal investigators" for

example. This is as confusing as it sounds.

Those who are academicians and are interested in studying fields

related to specific anomalous phenomena (such as extrasensory

perception, environmental effects on perception tasks,

psychokinetic and mental interactions on living systems) are

termed "parapsychologists." Parapsychologists usually have

advanced degrees. Many are members of the Para psychological

Association.

CAUTION! A recent email we received was from a woman who contacted a

Pennsylvania Paranormal Group regarding some Paranormal Activity in her

home. When a spokesperson for that group contacted her she was advised

the charge for ridding her residence of Ghosts and a House Blessing would

be $400.00. She got all the information from the group including an estimate

of charges and a guarantee. (Unbelievable!) She then turned the information

over to the Police. Please be aware of such things, they do happen.

PENNSYLVANIA LEGENDS

STRANGE CREATURE

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania - August 1973

An ungodly looking creature created havoc among the local god-

fearing Amish community. Witnesses described the creature as

following: The size of a good heifer, gray in color with a white mane.

It had tiger like fangs and curved horns like a Billy goat. It ran upright

on long legs, and had long grizzly claws. In one incident, the creature

sent a team of horses and two brothers flying when it approached their

hay wagon. The following day, a man was cutting weeds on his farm

about five miles from the previous incident when he heard a fierce

roar and turned to see a monster with three horns and a tail charging in

his direction. He raised his scythe to defend himself, only to have the

implement ripped from his hands. At that point, the man wisely

decided to turn both cheeks to the monster and escaped as fast as he

could run. A day later a woman was feeding poultry on a farm

midway between the two earlier incidents when she heard a

commotion and turned to see the creature in the act of snatching a

goose in each of its hands. She bravely ran toward the thing, waving

her apron. The woman managed to recover one of her geese when the

creature threw it at her, knocking her to the ground in the process. The

interloper then escaped with the remaining bird in hand.

IN THE NEWS

“Polls have shown that one in ten Canadians believe they have

seen a UFO. That’s three to four million people with UFO

experiences.”

Chris Rutkowski of Winnipeg-based Ufology Research

Never-before-seen alien planet just 300 light years from Earth

A newly discovered gaseous planet has been directly photographed orbiting

a star about 300 light-years from Earth. Imaging alien planets is difficult,

and this world may be the least massive planet directly observed outside of

the solar system, scientists say.

A sharp new photo released by the European Southern Observatory (ESO)

Monday, June 3, depicts the suspected gas giant (called HD 95086 b)

circling its young star (named HD 95086) in infrared light. The star has been

removed from the image to allow the planet — shown as a bright blue dot at

the bottom left of the picture — to shine through.

HD 95086 b was sighted by ESO's Very Large Telescope in Chile. Based on

the planet's brightness, scientists estimate that it is only about four or five

times more massive than Jupiter.

Most exoplanets are discovered via indirect means, such as detecting a dip in

a star's light when a planet passes in front of it, blocking part of its face, or

finding a slight wobble in a star's movement caused by the gravitational tug

of planets orbiting it.

"Direct imaging of planets is an extremely challenging technique that

requires the most advanced instruments, whether ground-based or in space,"

Julien Rameau, an astronomer at the Institute of Astrophysics and

Planetology in France and lead author of the study announcing the

discovery, said in a statement. "Only a few planets have been directly

observed so far, making every single discovery an important milestone on

the road to understanding giant planets and how they form."

Another photo from ESO shows the star and its planet in context with other

stars in the southern constellation of Carina, the keel.

Page 22: THE PENNSYLVANIA · The Kecksburg Incident, Kecksburg PA The Brown Mountain Lights, Morganton, NC The Dyatlov Pass Incident, Dyatlov Pass, RU Strange Creatures in Westmoreland County,

22

22

The planet orbits its star at about twice the distance from the sun to Neptune

and about 56 times the distance between Earth and the sun. The blue circle

in the photo represents the distance between the sun and Neptune.

HD 95086 is relatively young star at only 10 million to 17 million years old,

making the formation of the exoplanet and the dusty disc surrounding the

star potentially intriguing to researchers.

"[The planet's] current location raises questions about its formation process,"

Anne-Marie Lagrange, one of Rameau's team members, said in a statement.

"It either grew by assembling the rocks that form the solid core and then

slowly accumulated gas from the environment to form the heavy

atmosphere, or started forming from a gaseous clump that arose from

gravitational instabilities in the disc. Interactions between the planet and the

disc itself or with other planets may have also moved the planet from where

it was born."

Did a Turkey hunter shoot and kill

Bigfoot in Pennsylvania?

Nope! More good old Pennsylvania

urban rumors, and misinformation

as usual.

It is straight out of the Pennsylvania X-Files, but conspiracy

theorists are buzzing with speculation that the shooting and killing

of the legendary Bigfoot in Altoona, Pennsylvania has been

covered up by authorities. Researchers and Investigators from the

PA Bigfoot Society based in Western Pennsylvania called it from

the start and their subsequent investigation proved correct. (Hoax

or Misidentification)

According to Bigfoot enthusiasts, on May 14th, police in Altoona,

Pennsylvania took a 911 call from a John Winesickle claiming to

have proof of Sasquatch a few miles from his property and wanted

them to come and verify this.

While the 911 call is not in doubt, what followed has become a

matter of dispute and debate as various rumors have circulated -

mainly focusing on an unidentified turkey hunter who had shot and

killed the mythic beast and a menacing helicopter hovering over

the alleged scene.

Although the police report concludes that Winesickle saw Bear

tracks, he's still thankful they investigated, and he still insists

Bigfoot was in the area.

Reported Bigfoot sightings in Pennsylvania – Hundreds

Conclusive prove provided Bigfoot inhabits Pennsylvania – None

True believers in Bigfoot have ignored a long history of hoaxes

and misidentifications. Non-believers say they simply haven't seen

proof.

Pennsylvania ranks tenth among states with more than 500

sightings dating to the 1800s.

There's a lot of evidence. The problem is it's not good evidence.

If there is so much proof according to some why hasn’t a combined

expedition of active research groups ever taken place in

Pennsylvania? The more in the field the better, right?
