Insert the retaining hooks (clips) intothe floor mat eyelets.
Turn the upper knob of each retaininghook (clip) to secure the floor mats inplace.

Smart Access System with Push-button Start
■ Entering and exiting the vehicle
Grip the driver’s door handle to unlockthe door. Grip the passenger’s door
handle to unlock all the doors.*Make sure to touch the sensor on theback of the handle. The doors cannot be unlocked for 3seconds after the doors are locked.
*: The door unlock settings can bechanged.
Touch the lock sensor (the indentationon the upper part or lower part of thefront door handle) to lock the doors.Check that the door is securely locked.
■ Unlocking and locking the back door
Locks all the doorsCheck that the door is securely locked.

The doors cannot be unlocked for 3seconds after the doors are locked.
The following operations can be performed simply by carrying the electronic key on yourperson, for example in your pocket. The driver should always carry the electronic key.For details on starting the engine, see page 16.

Theft Deterrent System
■ Engine immobilizer systemThe indicator light flashes after the engineswitch has been turned off to indicate thatthe system is operating.The indicator light stops flashing after theengine switch has been turned to ACCES-SORY or IGNITION ON mode to indicatethat the system has been canceled.
■ Alarm
The alarm uses light and sound to give an alert when an intrusion is detected.To set the alarm: Close the doors, glass hatch and hood, and lock all the doors. The system will be set auto-matically after 30 seconds.
The indicator light changes from being on to flashing when the system is set.To deactivate or stop the alarm: ● Unlock the doors.● Start the engine. (The alarm will be deactivated or stopped after a few seconds.)
■ Steering lockThe green indicator light on the engineswitch will flash and a message will beshown on the multi-information display.Press the engine switch again while turningthe steering wheel left and right.

Engine (Ignition) Switch
■Starting the engine
Check that the parking brake is set.
Check that the shift lever is set in P.
Firmly depress the brake pedal.The engine switch indicator will turngreen. If the indicator does not turngreen, the engine cannot be started.
Press the engine switch.The engine will crank until it starts orfor up to 30 seconds, whichever isless.Continue depressing the brake pedaluntil the engine is completely started.The engine can be started from anyengine switch mode.
■Stopping the engine
Stop the vehicle.
Shift the shift lever to P.
Set the parking brake.
Press the engine switch.
Release the brake pedal and check that the indicator on the engine switch is off.
Performing the following operations when carrying the electronic key on your personstarts the engine or changes engine switch modes.

■Canceling and resuming the constant speed control
Pulling the lever toward you cancelsthe constant speed control.The speed setting is also canceledwhen the brakes are applied.
Pushing the lever up resumes the con-stant speed control. Resuming is available when the vehiclespeed is more than approximately 25mph (40 km/h).

■ Turning the LDA system onPress the “LDA” switch to activate the sys-tem.
“LDA” indicator and the lane lines willcome on.Press the switch again to turn the LDAsystem off.
■ Indication on the multi-information displayWhen the LDA system is on, the lane lines are shown.
When thin lines are shown:Lane markers are not recognized by thesystem, or the LDA system is temporarilycanceled.
When solid lane lines are shown: The LDA system is active.
If the vehicle deviates from the lane, thelane line will flash.
While driving on a road that has lane markers, this system recognizes the white lane mark-ers using a camera as a sensor to alert the driver when the vehicle deviates from its lane.If the system judges that the vehicle may deviate from its lane, it alerts the driver using beep-ing and indications on the multi-information display.

Intuitive Parking Assist (if equipped)
Display the intuitive parking assist on/off screen.
Press the menu switch.The multi-information display willchange modes to electronic fea-tures control mode.
Press the “ENTER” switch upwardsor downwards until the intuitiveparking assist mark appears in themulti-information display.
Press the “ENTER” switch to change to“ON”.The intuitive parking assist indicatorwill be displayed.
Each pressing of the switch turns theintuitive parking assist on and off.When on, the buzzer sounds toinform the driver that the system isoperational.Press the menu switch to change tothe normal display.
The distance from your vehicle to nearby obstacles when parallel parking or maneuver-ing into a garage is measured by the sensors and communicated via the multi-informa-tion display, the multimedia screen (if equipped), the navigation system screen (ifequipped), and a buzzer. Always check the surrounding area when using this system.

Wide View Front & Side Monitor(if equipped)
Pressing the wide view front & side monitorswitch turns the monitor on/off
The simultaneous display screen is dis-played when the wide view front & sidemonitor switch is pressed.
The wide view front & side monitor provides support when checking the areas to the leftand right side of the vehicle and the area in front of the vehicle during take-off at T-inter-sections or other intersections with poor visibility. This system also helps the driver avoidobstacles and when moving the vehicle to the side of the road.The wide view front monitor camera displays the areas to the front left and right sides andthe area directly in front of the vehicle on the multimedia screen (if equipped) or naviga-tion system screen (if equipped). The side monitor camera displays the area to the frontleft of the vehicle on the screen.This system can display the wide view front monitor and the side monitor separately or atthe same time.

The low speed four-wheel drive indi-cator will come on.
■ Center differential lock/unlock switchLock the center differential when your vehi-cle’s wheels get stuck in a ditch or whendriving on a slippery or bumpy surface.
The center differential lock indicator willcome on.Unlock the center differential after thewheels have been freed, or after movingto a flat, non-slippery surface.To unlock the center differential, pushthe switch again.
Use the four-wheel drive control switch and center differential lock/unlock switch to selectthe following transfer and center differential modes.

■Turning on the high beam headlights
With the headlights on, push the leveraway from you to turn on the highbeams. When the light switch is in “AUTO”position, the Automatic High Beamsystem will be activated. Pull the lever toward you to the centerposition to turn the high beams off.
Pull the lever toward you and release itto flash the high beams once.You can flash the high beams with theheadlights on or off.

■ Activating the Automatic High Beam system
Turn the headlight switch to “AUTO”position.
Push the lever away from you.The Automatic High Beam indicatorwill come on when the headlights areturned on automatically to indicate thatthe system is active.
The Automatic High Beam uses an in-vehicle camera sensor to assess the brightness ofstreetlights, the lights of oncoming and preceding vehicles, etc., and automatically turnshigh beam on or off as necessary.

When all of the following conditions are fulfilled, high beam will be automatically turned on(after approximately 1 second):
• Vehicle speed is above approximately 20 mph (32 km/h).• The area ahead of the vehicle is dark.• There are no oncoming or preceding vehicles with headlights or tail lights turned on.

■ When the contacts is empty
You can transfer the phone numbers in a Bluetooth® phone to the system. Operation methods differ between PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile) compatible and
PBAP incompatible Bluetooth® phones. If the cellular phone does not support either PBAPor OPP (Object Push Profile) service, you cannot transfer contacts.
Press the switch on the steering wheel.If the contacts is empty, a message will be displayed.
For a PBAP compatible Bluetooth® phone and “Automatic Transfer” is off

If the electronic key does not operate properly
■Unlocking and locking the doorsUse the mechanical key (P.12) in order toperform the following operations (driver’sdoor only):

Closes the windows and moon roof*(turn and hold)
Unlocks the doorsTurning the key rearward unlocks thedriver’s door. Turning the key onceagain unlocks the other doors.

■Starting the engine
Ensure that the shift lever is in P anddepress the brake pedal.
Touch the Lexus emblem side of theelectronic key to the engine switch.
If any of the doors is opened orclosed while the key is being touchedto the switch, an alarm will sound toindicate that the start function cannotdetect the electronic key.
Press the engine switch within 10 sec-onds of the buzzer sounding, keepingthe brake pedal depressed.
In the event that the engine switch still cannot be operated, contact your Lexus dealer.
