Despite considerable thrust on poverty alleviation in all plan

documents ever since the independence of Bangladesh, a

significant number of populations still survive below the

poverty line. It is a constitutional obligation of the

government and governmental organizations to provide a

reasonable living standard for the citizens by alleviating

poverty. The present government and governmental

organizations has, therefore laid special emphasis on

poverty alleviation and pledged to eradicate poverty.

One say shall be come when we achieve the MDG and

achieve a poverty free Bangladseh.
