BRAZOS COUNTY CENSUS 1860
Allie WHITLEY has answered the plea for help in gettingBrazos County records into print She has begun the listing of the1860 census There are some things that need an explanation aboutthis census Brazos County was listed by the same EnumeratorasRobertson County and the two counties were on the same reportRobertson County is listed on pages 1 69 enumerator numbering andBrazos County begins with page 70 through 113 Page 113 has thestatement that Robertson and Brazos Counties have 112 pages and isdated 17 September 1860 It is signed by GH LOVE Asst Marshalland Isaac LLOYD JP The two counties have been separated inmicrofilming and the page numbers are not filmed consecutivelyFor example Brazos County begins on the film with page 108 109and thenext ones are 96 99 then goes back to 70 71 then 86 95and so forth Robertson County is done the same wayland if thisexplanation is confused you should try reading it3 We will pubfish it by the enumerator page numbers so it will be printed as heoriginally recorded it There will be notations as to the printednumber on the right side of every other page as this will be thefinding number on the microfilm roll
