Bagheera realizes that Mowgli is in danger, particularly from Shere Khan the tiger who hates all people. When Baloo finally comes around, Mowgli runs off into the jungle where he survives a second encounter with Kaa the snake and finally, with Shere Khan. The Jungle Book costed $20 million to make. As of 4/18/16 the movie has made $300 million. Let’s all celebrate their performance! John Schoettler DID YOU KNOW??? Did you know that McKinley has a HALL MONSTER? Sometime in the 1980s, a hamster was mistreated by McKinley students and was kept in a goggle cabinet full of ultraviolet radiation. The hamster soon mutated and became a giant monster that may still pose a serious threat to the current student population. We can neither confirm nor deny reports that a McKinley student may or may not have gone missing at or near a time when the Hall Monster was sighted. 1

 Over 130 families were present         at Around the World in 80           Minutes, showing their support       for their students and McKinley         Middle School.

Around the World in 80 Minutes 2016 Seventh­graders studied a     country in depth and       became subject matter     experts, working in small       groups to create a       learning experience for     others. The students     included cultural facts     and interactive visits with       guests that included food,       traditional dress, music     and other delights. The       family night event was an         extreme success, with     more than half of all         seventh grade families     participating.  

 Ema Jacobsen stands proudly by         her project on the country of           Mali.  

 Rory Keller offered Nairobian       chocolate cake to her guests as she             taught them about Kenya.   

 Tori Dogans wore traditional       dress for the country of Algeria           as part of her presentation. 

Katie Gifford and Marija       Markovic had Swiss chocolate       truffles to offer to their guests. 

 From left to right, Keiarriea         Sims, Dashonta Canady, and       Latasha Reese doubled their       productivity by presenting two       boards full of information about         South Africa.   

  

 

 Mitchell Marry and Kilian McGuire Shared insightful comments about the North Korea with their visitors.    

 Esther Lopez interacts with and teaches a visitor about her country.    

 Kadin Metz offered Danish kringle as a treat to those who learned about the country of Denmark.   

 Ella Druktenis and Sidney Finnigan shared treats as well as detailed information about wildlife in Ethiopia.     

 Elizabeth Czosnek and Alexis Habermehl shared beverages with their presentation on the African country of Tunisia.
