First Reading Proverbs 8:1. 22-31 In beautiful poetry we are told of the beginning of all things, and of the delight that God the creator took in the human race. Second Reading Colossians 1:15-20 Pauls words reflect todays Gospel and tell us that all the fullness of God dwelt in the person of Jesus Christ. The words remind us that Jesus came to bring reconciliation between humanity and God. Gospel John 1:1-14 The beginning of the Gospel tells us how God, who has existed for all eternity, became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. NEXT WEEK’S SERVICES ... Those ill in hospital or at home, and for those who suffer in mind, body or spirit. Prayers are particularly asked for: Jonathan, Diane Hobbs, Helen Baker, Mike Reed, Andrew Ditty, Anna Gray and Katie Gray. We give God thanks for the lives of those who have died. We remember Dr Michael Gareth Budden and Ronald Dix whose anniversaries fall at this time. We pray for their families and friends. May the love of God and the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ bless and console you, this day and for evermore”.
