Needed - Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Adult Servers

The Parish is in need of Lectors and Eucharistic Minis-ters. Due to Covid-19, many of the more senior min-

sters have not been able to serve. If you are able, healthy and willing - we will train you! The need is great for Lectors to assist the priest in proclaiming the Word of God. Also - EEucharistic Ministers are needed for all Mass times. For all ministries - you may choose

the Mass you assist at when scheduled. We are flexible with schedules. Our parishes of Gate of Heaven and St.

Brigid are currently in significant need of parishioners of any age who would be willing to help serve Funeral Masses. Please consider helping the parish and the families of the de-ceased with this our most important work of mercy. If you

are interested in assisting with any of these ministries or have questions, pplease contact the Parish Main Office at

Ms. Tynan, the head of our music program is working with the first and second grade, on learning their rhythms! They impress with their ability to internalize a beat, and write their own rhythmic pat-terns. For a fun change of pace they used their musical notes to create silly pumpkin faces. Ms. Tynan has said that “the children of South Boston Catholic Academy are showing me every day that music and joy cannot be thwarted by quarantines, or pan-demics. Their sense of play abounds, and I am blessed to help guide them in their musical journey.”



Inclement Weather Reminder Mass Cancelations

When school is canceled in Boston due to snow, Morn-ing Masses (Monday - Friday) at St. Brigid and Gate of Heaven are canceled. This allows us to properly clear

the sidewalks, steps, and parking lots of snow and ice so that all may pass safely. If you are regular daily Mass crowd and would like to be alerted via email if Mass is canceled - please call the Office and get on our email

list for daily mass reminders.

Christmas Giving Tree

For Needy families at Julies Family Leaning Center and Laboure Center in

South Boston Adapted for Pandemic - GIFT CARDS

Due this Monday, December 14th The tradition our Parishes have had for over 20 years in helping the needy families in our area at Christmas time. Our giving tree with tags will be missing this year due to pandemic protocols -- but we would like to continue to help our neighbors. This year we will ask that you purchase a gift card for $10, $20 or $25 amounts and bring them to Church nno later than this Sunday, December 13th. Possible suggestions for gift cards include: Target, Old Na-vy, Macys, CVS, Walgreens, Stop and Shop, Shaws/Star Market. When bringing them to Church, you can deposit them in the offertory boxes at the doors of the Church no later than Sunday December 13th. Or you may drop off at the Parish Office at the lower level of the Gate of Heaven/St. Brigid Recto-ry - no later than this Monday, DDecember 14th.

Unfortunately, due to the restrictions in place, we will not be able to celebrate Mass at SSt. Augustine Chapel. When the restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so, we will resume the Saturday afternoon Mass at St. Augustine Chapel. All our Masses will be live-streamed at Christmas. If you are uncomfortable, ill, or vulnerable to the virus the Cardinal has dispensed you from attending Mass.
