Dear Parishioners,
Today the Church celebrates with great joy the Solemnity of All Saints. The saints are the ones who have reached the goal of faith, the end that we have been made for, that is, to see God face to face and to be united with him forever in the Kingdom of Heaven. Saints are the ones that we look to for courage and hope to help us to persevere in our daily spiritual battle while on the face of the earth. They are the friends of God who can intercede for us and appeal to the Father on our behalf. They too had to struggle while living an earthly life and they know and understand our trials and tribulations and the many temptations that try to keep us from doing the will of the Father.
Most of us have our favorite saints that we pray to, wear their medals, or venerate their relics. They are a gift from the Father that he has given to help us, his children, along the way. I remember when I was a young altar boy and each year we had a field trip to Rye Playland. My older brother and I went into a house of mirrors and it was a maze of glass walls. My brother was able to go through it quickly and I somehow got lost and was unable to find my way out. I remember clearly that feeling of panic and hopelessness as I kept bumping into glass panels and the fear of being alone with no one to help. My older brother must have realized that I was in trouble and he returned to find me. I remember looking up and there was my brother standing in front of me and holding out his hand for me to take. I grabbed hold of his hand and he led me out of the house of mirrors. The saints are the ones that look after us and extend their hands to us, to help us while on our journey here and to lead us home because they know the way…they have travelled it themselves and want us to be with them in the Kingdom of Heaven.
The saints in heaven make up the Church triumphant and all of us on earth the Church militant are united as the one mystical Body of Christ. We are united through the gift of the Holy Spirit at our Baptism and incrementally further united each time we receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist (before dining at the banquet of the Eucharist let us make sure that our souls are right and in the state of grace through the Sacrament of Reconciliation). We make up the mystical Body of Christ, the Church; we are united with the Communion of Saints. They are the heroes of the faith, they are our family members and friends who have gone through the purification of purgatory and now see God face to face.
As we celebrate All Saints Day we are reminded of how much we are loved by our God; that he has given us heavenly brothers and sisters to spiritually grasp us by the hand and to lead us in the way of holiness so that we can find our way home to the kingdom of heaven. All Holy Men and Women…Pray for us !
Our Lady Queen of Peace pray for us,

A special thanks for all the volunteers who helped out and donated their time, talent, treasure, and treats, at our parish Halloween party, especially Linda DiMieri, Gabby LaBouseur, and the members of the Men’s and Women’s Clubs.
We are in the process of starting a food pantry in our parish. The food pantry will be located in the parish hall. Please help us stock our shelves by donating non-perishable items and leaving them in the parish hall. Thank you for helping those who are hungry and in need.
Last Sunday we had the privilege of honoring our Blessed Mother under the image and title of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Special thanks to Cindy Costello and her family for sharing the image with our parish and the many blessings received through the intercession of our Blessed Mother.

The Mass will be celebrated on Thursday Nov. 19th at 7:30 PM in the Church. The healing service will take place immediately after Mass; Father Ed will be celebrating the Mass. Light refreshments
will be served in the parish hall at the completion of the healing service. Healing has always been a part of the Church. Jesus healed the blind man, the deaf man, and the leper. We find in Sacred Scripture physical healings, healing of relationships, psychological healing, financial healing, and spiritual healing. Come with expectant faith and join us, and experience the Lord’s healing power.
It’s time to think ahead to December…
