THE FOUNDATION FOR RURAL SERVICES recently hosted a virtual 5K walk/run fund-raiser. NEMR employees who vol-

unteered to go the distance and support the philanthropic programs provided by FRS were Denise Cowan, Marcia McKim, Paula Lin-hart, Jennifer Chrisman, Justin Simmons, Michele Gillespie, Mendy Haines, and Lori Fleshman. The FRS has a vital interest in helping rural communi-ties grow and thrive. The FRS sends rural students on tours to Washington, D.C., provides scholarships, edu-cational materials, and par-ticipates in other programs to support rural America. Learn more at frs.org.

NEMR welcomes Travis Swarts as a line-man and he will work on special projects. Travis is no stranger to NEMR. During the last 12 years, he worked in engineering as crews laid fiber technology in eleven of our exchanges plus a couple of areas be-yond our borders. He joins us with over 23 years of experience working all around

the country in telecommunications. Travis lives in Bloomfield, Iowa but will be relocating to this area soon. He enjoys golf-ing, fishing and hunting.
