Low productivity

“Total factor productivity, which captures the overall efficiency of production, has declined at an average rate of 2.1 per cent every year over the period 1990 to 2010. Similarly, labour productivity, which measures output per worker, contracted at an average rate of 0.5 per cent per year over the same period”

"Against this background, Jamaica’s annual economic growth over the past decade has averaged 0.8 per cent. This is in contrast to average economic growth of 2.6 per cent per year for our Caribbean neighbours"

Capturing

Are you using your memory? Do you have many or few capture points?

Page 27: Time Management JAHSE Symposium 2011

Component #1 - CapturingNovices / White Belts

Rely on memory, random bits of paper. May use many Inboxes / Voice mailboxes

Yellow Belts Still using some memory, but now have specifically chosen paper to capture with, plus a manageable number of Inboxes / Voice mailboxes

Orange Belts Very little memory, plus paper that is part of a set of pads. There is some consolidation of inboxes. A capture point is often, but not always available

Green Belts Never rely on memory, and use reliable capture points all the time. A manual capture point is always available, and the number is kept to a minimum. A backup capture point is used in emergencies.

Are you using your memory? Do you have many or few capture points?
